I'm not going to get into the details but getting our number ported from MyRepublic to Orcon has been a nightmare so far. My understanding is that this is relatively simple (ask My Republic, they managed to pull our number from Spark pretty quickly) yet Orcon have had over 10 days and it's still a no go.

Can someone with more knowledge on porting explain why it might take so long? The supervisor I spoke to at Orcon couldn't offer anything and refused to put me through to the provisioning team to get more information (yes I was being firm but polite).

Most likely reason is the losing provider is t approving the outport request within the time allowed but pm me your Orcon account and I'll take a look.

Ah - the wondrous variety of resold services....I would guess that My Republic are reselling a Voyager voice service without you being aware, consequently the national porting database has your number as with Voyager, not My Republic. As this wasn't correct the port was being rejected.

All was straightened out yesterday by the look of it and the port is now set for the 12/12.
