Anyone had the 7390 lose internet connectivity (on UFB) but the status page on the 7390 says all is normal and the internet is 'connected'? 

The 7390 is definitely disconnected from the internet because the 7390 system log shows the phone registration errors (our phone drops out) and connected devices cannot access the internet. 

It is annoying because the 7390 cannot recover itself (because it thinks the connection is up).

Happened twice since waitangi weekend.  Next time I'll call snap.

- If you know your connection is to an exchange, cabinet or conklin

 


 

- If your connection is to a ULL or wholesale service

Most of the problems with speed are likely to be related to internal wiring issues. Read this discussion to find out more about this. Your ISP is not intentionally slowing you down today (unless you are on a managed plan). Also if this is the school holidays it's likely you will notice slower than usual speed due to more users online.

 



 

A master splitter is required for VDSL2 and in most cases will improve speeds on DSL connections. Regular disconnections can be a monitored alarm or a set top box trying to connect. If there's an alarm connected to your line even if you don't have an alarm contract it may still try to connect so it's worth checking.

Got it sorted, was the victim of a DDOS attack so snap blocked my connection to preserve network stability. 

Snap say it has happened a few times now, and that you can become a target by annoying someone when online gaming. 

The kids play minecraft / roblox so i'll tell them to give it a rest for a month.   In fact, roblox is an awful game so a permanent block is probably more suitable.  


Still, I wonder if it could be anything else too.
