I just spoke with one of the sales agents to request a second open term connection be installed at my home but was told that they wouldn't allow me a second connection without purchasing a second Fritzbox.

I find it a bit sad that they seem to be less accommodating than they used to be, Doesn't exactly provide the best incentive to keep my existing connection with them.

The reasoning for the policy its self makes sense however the stubbornness of how they enforce it does not considering I am not your typical user.

And I still remember all those people who tried to tell me that Snap's service wouldn't go to custard when 2 Degrees ate them :-P

The actual service seems still good however my opinion of their Customer Service has taken a sharp turn downhill.

It seems we have gotten to the end of the era where snap reigned supreme.

I am moving house and they're wanting to switch me to one of the "new 2degrees plans" which is actually more expensive than I was on for the exact same thing. I really hope they don't force a Fritz!Box down my throat too.

Previously they strongly recommended the fritzbox and didn't support anything else if you called up, but would just provide basic settings.
As 2degrees is more in the mainstream and a much larger general audience than snap (less enthusiasts), i suppose a decision was made higher up that to streamline support they would make them mandatory.

Hi Everyone,

At the current point in time, we don't have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) plan, as we have focused on making our broadband offering as simple as possible for the majority of end users for launch. BYOD is something that is likely to come along in the future, however we don't have an ETA on this as yet.

In saying that, while we supply Fritz!Boxes with our connections, we don't require them to be used, you are more than welcome to use your own equipment instead if you like, however do note that support is limited (read: settings provided only), we are unable to guarantee performance across our product range, and you will be unable to use our Home Phone Plus internet phone line service without our Fritz!Box for performance and security reasons.

We stand by the Fritz!Box, we think that it is a pretty impressive piece of kit and it provides a far larger feature-set compared to the freebies some of the other ISPs provide.

Lucky015, please feel free to flick us a PM, we can discuss and see if we can come to a solution for you.

Thanks all,

Ralph ^JOB
