Hi,

Is anyone else having issues with Orcon's international speeds ??

It was fine yesterday but today, speeds from certain sites are really slow - like 5kbs

100 Pings to www.google.com results in a 15% packet loss and an avg speed of 235ms

A DSLReports.com test had 24% packet loss
http://img521.imageshack.us/my.php?image=orconspeediq2.jpg

Anyone else experiencing this ??

Cheers

Yeah, I'm getting a bit of packet loss - and now that you mention it international speeds seem horrible too. Problem looks like it's at AsiaNetCom though - anyone on other providers having any issues?

Not using Orcon, but using Asianet as the international provider without any issues:

Yep, tried to run Windows update using an Orcon connection on a couple boxes and it kept timing out.

Works fine on my Ihug connection

I am also experiencing slow international speed and packet loss. -Orcon here as well

I tried playing World of Warcraft for a while before and it was unplayable on a US East realm but was fine on a US West one :/

Edit:wow, Ive been using pingplotter and the packet loss is really really bad.

Kept tracing to google.com and there is packet loss along most of the path starting from 60.234.9.1 ge-0-3-0-200.cr1.nct.orcon.net.nz

Glad it wasn't just me.  I was getting about 3Mbits  Intl yesterday afternoon but at about 6.00 PM it dropped to less than dial up speed.  Ran speed test locally and all was fine..  Haven't tried it today..

Well at least they have finally recognised there is a problem.
I rang 3 times over the weekend, and the helpdesk kept saying it was a fault on my end.
Two of them didnt even know what 'packet loss' was !!!
Oh well, hopefully they get it fixed up soon.
