Hi,

I rebooted my Asus AC86u earlier this evening and now it just won't connect back on to the fibre network.

I have restarted it.. reset it.. and it just keeps coming up with the below and this just repeats over and over every few seconds.
This would seem the remote end is terminating the connection, any one have any ideas?
I don't think 2 degrees will be much help as it isn't their modem and imagine it would take a week to get through the layers of tech support to find someone that can help probably.

Have you tested the connection with a 2degrees supplied router?

Linux: Called 2degrees checked your account is paid up?

yeah wouldn't be the first time I have missed a payment, but you don't get this issue, you can still get to their page to pay.

But yes I have checked and all paid up.

I think the issue is at their end, tried their modem and it won't connect either.

I also tried to change my 2degrees broadband password through their website and when you click submit it just sits there forever..

I imagine they must have a database issue or something.

Anyone from 2 degrees want to disconnect and reconnect and lose internet to confirm this? :)

Contact 2degrees Care and ask for assistance - also factory reset the Fritz!Box and let it reprovision to see if this gets you back online.

Turn off the ONT for at least 5 minutes
See if it reconnects after that.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Without vlan 10, it wont authenticate at all.

Hello

I am having the EXACT same issue

I've been humming along nicely and had no problems for the last year or so but in the last few days I cannot connect to 2 Degrees.

I have no issues with my fritzbox but I just cannot get connected using my USG.

Some key things ive noticed:

  • The connection authenticates
  • I get allocated my public ip
  • I see LCP Terminated by peer
  • I then see Connection terminated: no multilink.

I have attempted to get help from the 2degrees team but as im not using a supported router they cant help out (fair enough), but I suspect somethings happening at their end given the messages im seeing in the logs.

been struggling getting past general help desk, anyone higher up or in the technical team who can advise?

Good to see some one else with the same issue

Any one seen this kind of thing?

I have reset to defaults, rebuilt my config, and am stuck.

I reverted back to my Asus 68U that was working fine before I pulled it to replace with the 86U... no settings have ever been changed.

Same problems.. wont connect.

Finally I pulled the fritzbox out again and tested it properly, wont connect.
Called 2degrees, ended up with a factory reset.. worked.

i explained to the support person I had been usin the 86u for a year and before that the 68u for a year without issue until the last 2 days when all 3 routers failed.
He said "Chorus are aware... and are having some issues currently and it is acknowledged...  try again with the other routers in a couple of days.."

I will be pretty pissed if I cannot use the Asus routers.. as have them set up with VPN's etc that obviously the fritzbox does not support..

Would be nice to have some more technical response from 2degrees on what Chorus have actually done and doing to fix this..

Glad to see I am not the only one..
