I had trouble in 2024 with my Asus RT-AX3000 router and 2 degrees broadband but thanks to advice here I got it working. I also have another Asus router as a Mesh connection.

Tonight after almost two years the WAN just stopped working. I have a static address. I did all the normal troubleshooting regarding turning off and rebooting the PC,  Chorus Box, network switch, router. I check the WAN cable with a tester and it passed OK.

The network side of the router worked OK I could log with the direct address but the WAN was not working. I think the ASUS router referred to a problem with DCHP ( I forgot to write it down).

I dragged out the old Netgear router that I was supplied with ( I originally used it to set up the 2 degrees connection) before I installed the Asus router I had used with Vodafone cable.

It worked out of the box (plug and play ) and it shows the IP address that is my fixed address so the connection to 2 degrees is OK.

So I am thinking there are possibly two  possibilities.

1 The WAN hardware on the AX-3000 router has died.

2 Something changed at 2 degrees end tonight that means the settings on the Asus router were no longer correct.

I would be grateful for any ideas as I would like to get the ASUS working again.

Boy am I glad I didn't send back the Netgear as it would mean the TV would not be working and there would be a major upset and unhappy people.

I can't find a way to delete my post above but the WAN port on Asus router just started working again and connected to 2 degrees.

Why it did so I have no answer. I was just going to buy a newer router from PB Tech

Ignore the previous posting

Thanks
