The information I received earlier today is 2G , 3G including HSPA+.

its a shame they didn't get the http://www.twodegrees.co.nz/ or http://www.2degrees.co.nz/ domains but some other company has them.

Yes, but a logo doesn't have to spell out a name.

Indeed, but a logo can be used to substitute for a name... especially for a geek who likes to use alt+ combos.
