Hi,

I have a 5800xm and configured the access points through the get settings menu option.  I have checked the settings against my N95 which is working and they seem the same.

Can't get anything, eventually get a web timeout.   The E with the arrows appears in the top left, but no data is ever transferred.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Can send MMS ok, have just tried deleting access point and getting settings again.  Still not working.   Could there be something in the browser I need to set (browser works on wifi ok.)

Opera Mini works with the same AP, so not sure why the S60 browser refuses to work.

Figured it out, working now. In advanced settings the proxy server was set to 118.148.1.188. No idea where it got that from, especially since I deleted the APN so many times. I have never seen that address before.

Reverse lookup gives me:
118.148.1.188 resolves to
"188-1-148-118.nzcomms.co.nz"
Top Level Domain: "co.nz"
Country IP Address: NEW ZEALAND

Oddly, the N95 didn't have it and removing it, fixed it.

if you look at the settings sticky at the top of the forum you will see that the WAP proxy ip is 118.148.1.118 and you probably mis-typed that in. then again the proxy ip shouldnt be used with the internet APN anyway.

I didn't type any of the settings in, I used the sim menu for 2degrees to send them and saved the APN's from the message.

That's odd. Any chance you could try pulling the settings from the STK again and see if it breaks? If so we'll take it up with the device management vendor. Probably a typo at their end when entering in the data for that model.

Tried it again and it definitely set the proxy to that address above for the APN "2Degrees Internet" which results in a config that doesn't work until it is removed.
