I was wondering if an orcon person could help us -

We're moving to Timaru in 2 weeks into provided accommodation.

Apparently there is a phone line already. Can i join orcon as a BB only (ie no calls w Orcon) from that place (that we dont own)?

What if there isnt currently a phone line (i searched the address on the ocron site and it doesnt show up - does that mean it has no phone line??) - would that be easier?

Cheers

Hey,

If there is already a phone line connected this should be fine to connect you with Broadband onto this line. If however there is not currently a line connected you would require a home line / BB plan with Orcon as I do not believe Orcon offers Naked BB in Timaru at this stage.

Cheers

Not necessarily. Their checker says we don't have an active line (and we have since Feb)

woo hoo just found out it HAS an active phone line!

Can someone help us connect or shall i go via the website?

The other thing is we do NOT own the phone line (owned by a large corporate organization) so i hope that is all OK to get no terms "broadband only" onto the line?

if that is ok we would be SOOO happy! otherwise timaru would be .... :(
