Tonight I managed to get into my email to find that I had been out bid on an auction for a cruise that I wanted to win for my partner as a xmas present. With 3 minutes to go I tried to bring up the auction site in my mobile's browser so I could place a new bid. Unfortunately the auction site didn't load, nor any other site that I tried using national data. But trying the Facebook app worked. I still can't use national data to access the web. Currently using wifi now that I'm home from work. Gutted about auction, but was there a problem with web site access?

Sorry to hear about your auction,

We haven't had any notifications from NOC about any network outages as such. It may seem blatantly obvious, but have you confirmed that there is National data balance left on your account?

If you still cannot access national data but you do have a remaining balance, it may be worth giving us a bell on 0800 022 022 at a time of your convenience so we can get a fault lodged for this issue.

Still have National data, 41.46MB remaining and my account is in credit of a few dollars. Funny thing is, Facebook and email work, but trying to access websites won't work.

Fixed now, the other day I did a factory reset of my phone after it wouldn't connect to Kies. I had the 2degrees settings sent to me again, but this time around for the internet and port, it had values, where before they weren't set. I removed them and pages are loading. And found another auction for a cruise so all is good :)

Some basic questions... Is this a 2degrees handset or a third party handset? If third party have you done the configuration yourself? Have you checked it? Are you using the correct APNs?

One thing to try is turning the phone off and pulling the battery for 20 seconds.

My Vodafone 845 (APNs known to be correct) today refused to access any sites over 2degrees mobile data. I re-registered on the network several times. No good.

Finally, I powered the phone off and pulled the battery....and waited about 30 secs for any latent power charges to fade out of capacitors.....and then put the battery back in and restarted the phone.

Internet worked immediately. Mobile data all good.

Maybe the Vodafone 845 had some kind of brain fart.....but I've seen this before in other phones (Android and Symbian and *whatever*). They can get into a 'state'.....and killing the power completely can fix it.
