So after my findings from the last problem, disconnects in the evening from Vent, WoW, HoN, Steam etc etc - Youtube buffering bad again and also looks like I am not the only one from checking up on the local gaming site forums;

http://www.gpforums.co.nz/showthread.php?s=1b079dc2aff4c248562d73d37afe2227&threadid=397943&perpage=25&pagenumber=1

24 pages long ^. What is it going to take with Orcon?

Did anyone end up making that facebook page at all? I will make a Facebook account just for that, I don't use it myself, partner does...

This is getting bad, I am not gonna lie, did not play WoW since Vanilla, as I felt the newer expansions are bad, with the new one coming up I got my account back up and with the expansion a few days away I am personally going to rage like no man if they dont sort their stuff out here.

Not acceptable.

P.S Can we have some action this time from the masses, it does us no use sitting here behind the key board and saying what is wrong. I give up on their Tier 1 team, Tier 2 seems to get stuff done - but on a level compared to a Tier 1 Telstra or Telecom... which is not saying much since they are overseas... Sigh and here I was wanting to support local NZ ISP Business and help those within that contact centre retain jobs to help the local economy and the Auckland Super City.

1/10 - would consider moving to Telecom if this keeps going on again..

I have a sneaky suspicion these outages are occurring far often that I am aware of because I personally do not sit in front of my machine 24/7 but of the times that I do actually need to surf, it is down.

This has been happening for about the past month and a half now. Weekend comes, Orcon has next to no international capacity. It's always "on its way", by the end of the weekend, when everyone has already given up.

I also gave WoW a shot this weekend. It is terrible. Constant DC's, it's up for 5 minutes then down again.

This really is worse than what TelstraClear was when I decided to give them the boot.

An overworked Orcon techie (sounddude) posting won't make up for the crap service, I've given them the benefit of the doubt, but man, they have degraded remarkably since I signed up.

What Geekzone looks like on Orcon (takes 30 seconds to load a page):

Pretty sh*thouse.

I made a thread before, it was a "problem" with the port at the exchange in the end.

Seriously and I have disconnects alot again, I gave up on ringing all the time cause of this bs and nothing was getting done, they were trying to rub it off more towards "oh it must be a problem with your building line in the apartment, your software".

Anyhow I wont even start, if anyone posts on GP Forums maybe show them this thread or this direction, they are talking about taking some attention to the quality commission I read.

The funny thing is the CEO is saying nothing, its seriously beyond just bad service aye, its a joke.

Why bother showing them the thread, take it to the media.

It looks like an international link problem. We use a CDN to distribute images and CSS - exactly what you are missing. The nearest node is in LAX.

We do this way because it saves us about 200GB of traffic a month...

Interesting.

When you guys are disconnecting from World of Warcraft is your internet completely disconnected ?

Or is it a problem of disconnecting from wow itself ?

Because there's been a thread in the main tech support forums for wow detailing a problem wow's been having with certain ISPs.

Unlike most multiple page threads on disconnections this one has been getting regular service and updates from Brian L a Blizzard employee. There's even been a few tools updates meant to fix the problems.

No the problem is International traffic dies, nothing to do with WoW.

No all international drops and/or national too.

They have turned to bs, seriously if this was Telecom doing this on a National level and 3 months of disconnects, aslong as you are educated knowing that Big Time was throttled, then this would be all over the media.

Hi all,
Just a update from Orcon's end.
This isn't an international bandwidth issue, we have purchased plenty of bandwidth.
The issue we are dealing with is a routing problem.
The tech team are working through it.
Thanks, Quentin

Nice to get an update, but I think there is a page somewhere for this to be posted.
