Can anyone confirm if Google SMS alerts should work on 2degrees.

I have an old Vodfone number.

SMS alerts used to work earlier this year I think, but I have need to use them again and they nolonger seem to work.

I am unable to re-enter a phone number as I never receive the verification code txt.

I note that supported providers according to Google are only Telecom and Vodafone ?

If Google says that only Vodafone & Telecom are supported, then no, you have no expectation of that service on 2Degrees.

If it worked at one point, that was really just a bonus. You will need to look at moving to a supported provider for this service I guess.

Hi there - if you have ported to 2degrees then no this will not work. International text messages have serious issues with ported 2degrees numbers. If your phone is using android then set up the Pop-up notification instead of the SMS - these work nicely on android.

Google Calender alerts should work on ported numbers OK.  Can you PM me your number so we can check it out for you.

Cheers

Yes, Calendar alerts should work, but SMS alerts won't work because of the issues with international SMS.

I know (and expected) this because as soon as I ported my 021 number the SMS calendar alerts completely stopped. It was a bugger as I used them all the time - so very useful!!

(That reminds me that I really must go in and convert all my SMS alerts to Pop-up notifications!)
