This is more of a warning... but anyway.

On the ipad I had a 1gb of data and 50mb national data which ran out sometime early Jan. I've been use to the data expiring and then loosing internet access. Because I had purchased $150 of credit which was sitting in my account the data switched over to casual rates which is very expensive. So it used all the money in my account until it was empty.

So I'm pretty angry at myself so I thought others may like to know even if it is common sence. Because the ipad doesn't receive txt messages you will have to log onto the 2degrees website to check your account should you have it loaded up with cash as 2degrees have no way of telling you.

Pretty guttered I've wasted about 100 bucks of data for not very much.

Perhaps an email alert would be nice 2d?

cheers,

We'll be making some changes soon which should make things a lot easier for pesky iPads.

+1 to the consume app. It scrapes data from the websites of a number of different providers and works well.

I'm afraid not, sorry, but as an iPad user myself I can tell you that they will go a long way towards allowing you to forget about it, and just get on with using your iPad.

The 2degrees Huawei E5 WiFi Router also has this problem, when used with WiFi only. I use it primarily with an Apple iMac so a simple Dashboard widget would fix it. There are a few around that 2degrees may be able to use.

2degrees suck in this respect, they're as bad as t/com just bleeding every liitle bit of money they can from their customers. It should just not allow any traffic once the credit has run out. The end user will figure out whats up soon enough. I have already left their network due to this problem.

I can't speak for the specific systems have, but it is often not that simple.
And even if it was, doing what you suggest is likely to annoy some customers even more.

I can imagine people would get very annoyed to get cut off in the middle of trying to send an important email or something.

I agree that would be annoying, thays why they have monthly plans, Prepay/top up systems are there so customers can manage how much money they are spending. 2 degrees just decide for you. Xnet have no problem in stopping my traffic once I go over my self appointed cap so i simply login and turn it up if need be....Easy as.
