Hi there,

Hope you are enjoying the savings that come with Orcon Genius.

If you’ve been bragging to your friends about how much you’re paying for broadband and phone with Orcon Genius, now’s a good time to give them a heads up to signup – as we’re raising the price for new signups from 1 October by $5 a month.

So, if you give them the inside knowledge about the impending price rise, and they sign-up soon, they’ll owe you 5 bucks a month for ages. That should get you a bunch of free drinks or favours.

Please pat yourself on the back for being one of the first to sign up to our cracking introductory deal; and let anyone else know that they better sign up by the 1 October if they want it at $70 a month.

Thanks, the team @ Orcon

PS – your price won’t change!

The tone of the email pissed me off.  YAY WE'RE RAISING PRICES SO REFER YOUR FRIENDS

Is this not the 2nd time say in the last two years where Orcon released major new plans then found they couldn't really sustain good performance/service at those prices then raised them... why yes I think it is...

Well that decides that then!

The change for me was only going to save less than $5 a month but I was still considering making the move - was just waiting for them to iron out all the bugs - which I dont think they have done yet!

Doing your best is much more important than being the best.

Maybe they are raising their prices to cover the support costs for this device..

Costs a lot to buy that much heroin

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Hope the money goes towards better support - it took a month to answer my email (and in the email they just fobbed me off anyway)

And in 6 months or a year's time  the beancounters will decide that it is inefficient to maintain legacy pricing structures and in order to save costs in the long run the original customers will be offered "exciting new valued based plans" or told to pony up $5 like everyone else,

This is why I like the business plans.  You're given a direct dial extension to an account manager with authority to sort stuff.  Although Genius isn't available on Business lines.

In which case there should be a cheaper naked DSL option would be much less expensive for them to support (and wouldn't need those ridiculous termination fees either).
