I have also seen this issue. Not quite sure how to recreate it; since the wife is usually there as well and boy it ain't a good look. :-{

I get this issue on my T1050 usually when I am recording a programme on 1 channel - follow that with what ever comes next on same channel, and also am recording another programme on another channel followed by yet another programme - so there are four recordings going at once on the crossover. We would also be watching a recording while al this is going on.

Sound issue: Was solved by me tweaking the units outside of the box , not a box issue in my case but an issue of how, say, my receiver or TV deals with signals. i don't have this issue as my receiver knows what to do with Digital vs analog sound. in the old days it was mono vs nicam stereo , if you switched all to mono the sound would stay uniform from modern sound stream to dark ages sound stream , in this case TV3 or Prime switch would do it.

Jitter: I turned off the "live pause" option so you cant pause live tv and no real issue after that. if you have it turned on you are asking the box to permanently record an extra channel for the sake of pause option. i just hit record if i need to answer the phone or take a wazz so i am not burning the life out of the HDD for no gain 95% of the time and chase the recording.

From my understanding the live pause option is just enabling a cache of what the tuners are already tuned in to. It's not really any different to actively recording on both tuners except it's always recording. I absolutely see why the jitter issue would be resolved by disabling this as frees up resources (and saves a little bit of power if the HDD has time to spin down) but in my mind the box shouldn't have jitter if live pause is a feature.

Perhaps set the live pause to a shorter duration? I know TiVo where pausing live TV was one of their major selling points is limited to 30 minutes.

Surely Live Pause should\could just turn off automatically if you're not actually watching Live TV though? I was watching a scheduled recording (albeit while it was currently recording, purely because we were late finishing dinner), but no reason for it to be trying to record LiveTV while I was doing that.

Ahh yes... but how does the unit know you're not actively watching live TV? As far as the unit is concerned if it's switched on (which it will be most/all of the time) it's in use.

not sure what it should do as far as how its programmed, I only know what i changed and the seemingly positive result. give it a whirl , i would be interested in your opinion of before and after if you also suffer the jitters. maybe it was just a hard core recording period before the dreaded Christmas void where there is little worth recording and it is coincidental

you could test that easy enough, put the box on for 5 mins on a channel , duck off to watch a recording then back to live tv and try to rewind a min or two to see where it runs out. Pause live tv and then go to library and play something then back to see what happened. live pause is handy but i didn't get 5 years from my mtv3600 drive and still going by utilising it ;)

Surely it can tell what it's currently being used for. I mean if it can tell which channel I'm on, surely it can tell that I'm currently watching a recording. It could safely turn off Live Pause as soon as I press Play and switch it back on when I press Stop. Having said all this, I never had this sort of problem with my MagicTV (overlap of programs always worked fine) so clearly it can be managed differently and better.

It really is a bit worrying when a box like this is having trouble shifting 2-3 low bitrate streams around, its not like they are recording uncompressed video or anything strenuous.

The brand new FreeviewPlus rollout has begun and you would have been prompted by a FreeviewPlus Screen telling you about the new update, The default INFO banner will no longer be on display when you change the channel, instead the FreeviewPlus mini guide will appear, the UI is much faster. The timeout should remain the same to the default however you can change this in the FreeviewPlus settings.

If you are having an overlay issue with the original banner and the FreeviewPlus banner [When the info banner appears first then disappears then the Freeview Mini Guide pops up) then a firmware download is available right here: (T2200) http://firmwaretest.dishtv.co.nz/DIS007_10_0120.usb The update will be on the OND server in the next few days if you would like the T2200 to update this for you automatically.

To access the mini guide at any time simply press the OK button on live TV, you can change the channel from within the mini guide as well as browse for channels. To access the Quick Selection Menu's and guides simply press INFO then OK, If you are not connected to the internet then there will be no change made.

When i am network streaming, ie using VLC to watch what is on, the TV has a Black semi transparent rectangle in the middle of the screen. should that be there?

No, this is happening on all brands with the new FreeviewPlus so I have sent a log to the Freeview team with my details, it's happening on my LG Smart TV too.

You have told us! and we have listened! We have made some big changes to the Library and how you watch your recorded shows on the T2200. The latest update allows you to have either a episode view or a series view, so you can get all the series grouped together, you can delete the series together instead of marking each episode (However you can still do this in episode view).

The sort filters will be saved, so if you decide to change the sort arrangement then it will remain when you open the Library up.

In the schedule, you can now set a manual timer via the blue button.

I am hearing back on other changes, however we are releasing more as soon as possible. Please do not repeat requests over and over again, read through the backlogs of this post from the 20th. Everything gets sent through to the software team. PDF manuals are completed although I just need to make changes from this latest update. Good news , however when the box appears asking if you want to delete the episodes it still does not say the NAME of the item you are about to delete, i know this could be done because it says the name in the dialogue box if you wish to save a file just fine. excellent progress though.
