I have a 37" Panasonic LCD HDTV @ 1080p, with built-in Freeview HD tuner. Cool thing is because I live in Khandallah directly opposite Mt Kaukau I don't even need an antenna plugged into the TV to get a perfect signal :)
trying to win this for my parents, who have a 32" LCD tv, samsun bluray, and sky. im trying to get them away from sky, only thing keeping them on it is the sport.
My "home theater" (if you can call it that) consists of a rather cheap 23.6" 1080p Philips LCD monitor (with HDMI), a desktop (for streaming / playing media), a PS2 and Gamecube, and a Sony 6.2 HT system. - So no actual TV at all currently.
We have two dvd players (one multi-zoned, one zoned home theatre system), and one TV. We used to use terrestrial TV but now live without TV reception. Not that I personally care too much, but the lady of the house misses shorty on weeknights, and I miss the International Games. Internet (Ondemand) is fine, and I hook up my laptop via SVGA to the TV to watch repeats and catchups.
40inch Sony X series LCD Yamaha RX-V863 AV Receiver with various arrangements of speakers PS3 with PlayTV for Blu-ray/GT5 (soon, oh so soon...)/TV/PVR
I'm actually pretty satisfied with this setup and wouldn't need the Homecast PVR for myself. However it would be perfect for my granddad - to bring him into the digital age. ;)
I have a buggy DVB-S2600U (see my other posts at various times) with, apparently, a different set of bugs to anyone else's DVB-S2600U, hooked up to an old Sky dish that someone left behind. This may be a special (bug-)collector's edition of the DVB-S2600U, making it especially valuable.
A 29" Phillips 4:3 CRT tv with an Extra Terrestrial Freeview box. Needless to say, I'm less than impressed with the ET's PVR capabilities, so the Homecast box would be a very welcome change!
46" Bravia X series + TCL cable with T-Box in lounge. Basic analogue reception in elsewhere. HT9200DTR would have to be an improvement on the T-Box (freezing issues, etc) & would provide digital HD elsewhere in house. Plus an extra 500GB would be ideal for the other half's series recordings (Coro et al!) & free up T-Box for non-free to air stuff.
