Hello folks!

I have a Homecast HT9200DTR to giveaway. This is a Freeview|HD DVR (Digital Video Recorder), with dual DVB-T (terrestrial) tunners and 500GB HDD.

The prize is a Freeview|HD recorder, with 500GB internal HDD for storage, which allows up to 100 hours of full HD TV recording. Twin tuners to record two chanels simultaneously, fully compliant with Freeview 8 Day EPG.

The competition runs from now until the 19th November 12pm, when I will lock this thread and draw a winner. You have two ways to enter:

1.You can reply once to this thread with some more information about what you have now in your home entertainment - is it just a TV, a home theatre, Sky, is it HD or not, etc. Make it entertaining. Just a "Me too!" is not enough. A photo entry will add a bonus point!

2.Use the Retweet button to send a tweet about this competition. You can enter once a day only and each tweet until the closing of the competition is an extra chance to win. Only tweets sent from the Retweet button are valid entries.

Somethings you must know: users who have been previously banned are not entitled to enter this competition. No purchase is necessary and it's only valid for New Zealand residents and will only be delivered to New Zealand addresses. The Homecast HT9200DTR prze is a brand new unit and will be sent directly from Freeview New Zealand. Retweet button entries are only valid if you have a Geekzone account created before the end of this competition.

Do you need decent UHF reception to make this work?

We have a hand-me-down CRT TV, a 15 yr old stereo for sound, and a 2nd hand Sony DVR. No Sky. No HD. No 3D.

(Hanging out for higher bandwidth and cheaper Internet traffic, really, I guess!)

I'd have to give this to my mother for her 50" rear-pro. She's currently got an HDD recorder and a freeview box, but can never figure out how to record from one to the other!

Hmmm.. current set-up includes:

Ancient JVC DVD home theatre (5.1 but its not working proper-like), an even more ancient Panny VCR, a somewhere in-between Sony mini system which is only the second stereo I've ever owned.
Latest addition is an LG 42LD650 telly which is way nice compared to the old Grundig CRT I had, although I think the Grundy anchored the house nicely during the earthquake...!
Standard Sky signal, not the flashy MySky one, Freeview via UHF (makes for pretty pictures compared to the rabbit ears!)

Give me free stuff.  Please.  Cool

We have mySky HD with a fairly old plasma....

And my pet peeve is that I watch European rugby and pretty much nothing else (otherwise box sets) so I hate having to shell out for the basic package and sports - why not a pay-per channel option

Now, rant over

My room has a Dreambox DM7020, and a 24" LG monitor masquerading as a TV (with the help of a Genius TV-Go and a Philips Micro System)

Would be nice to be able to watch Freeview|HD content and record it in HD.

We'll I have just been overseas for 2.5 years and returned with not much.

So at the moment:
- no TV (did have a 37" lcd, but lent this to my brother while overseas)
- no dvd, or stereo, or vcr
- no sky
- no freeview

So will have to try and wrangle my tv back off my brother, and freeview would be a bonus! :)

Panasonic 42" Plasma
MySky HDi
Random brand DVD player
Nintendo Wii

crappy analogue reception but good enough to get perfect DVB-T! and of course DVB-S via Sky dish.

this PVR would allow me to free myself from the shackles of Sky!
