Hi,

Just wanting to get feedback on two issues. Have firmware 1.26, and performed a factory reset today with no improvement/change.

1. Satellite reception appears to be very unstable, with frequent loss of signal (including today). This doesn't appear to be weather dependent? I suspect this may be an issue with the dish itself, however wondered whether I am missing something? Is there anything I should check prior to contacting a technician?

2. Am having issues with video content being unavailable on TVNZ OnDemand (eg. One News, Seven Sharp etc). Other shows appear OK, and no issues with TV3 that I have noticed.

Thanks,

MK

Upgraded to 1.26 reception seems fine better picture than the old s7090 the
Previous box to this one.
As to tvnz on demand the odd one does not play to check if it's the box
I suggest trying to open the same non playing item via a computer
Opening same item if it also doesn't work it's tvnz if it does
Then probably an issue with the s8200

Tried viewing content on computer, and was fine. Only on s8200 .... so think it may be an issue with box.

I've tried contacting disttv and have always got a timely reply
That said there are times that I've not been totally happy with the reply and
Have gone back for clarification.

Example the quick select menu on that appears as a sidebar on the left hand side
According to the manual (4.6) is activated by the ok button
Only thing is it does not for the most part work that way.
Pressing ok for me works the same as the red button when watching TV and
Takes my to the free view plus ribbon menu at the bottom of the screen.
I was told that is the way it is supposed to work and the manual has not been up dated
I was told the quick select menu only works now by pressing ok when the box is not connected to the
Internet ..... I disconnected the internet and found this is true .... but the manual does not reflect
This, also found that the box can be coaxed into showing this menue when
Connected to the internet by pressing the info button first then when that info is displayed
Pressing ok takes you to the quick start menu press exit to exit and ok then takes you to the fvplus ribbon menu.
Dont you just love paying to be a beta tester for dish tv :)

I am also having trouble getting some content to play on tvnz on demand and so is my daughter who lives in another part of country. It's been like this for  a week or more now. The same content plays fine on the phone and computer so it's a problem with the S8200. I hope it gets sorted soon.

When referring to the manual, is this the iManual or the PDF Manual found on our website?

There are two issues that are still really bothering me with the interface. Could I take a moment to just raise these and request a patch?

Changing the channel by pressing number keys is really slow, the system waits for the user to enter four digits, or to bypass it you have to press for buttons (usually 000#).  Can we have this changed to a two digit method with shorter waiting period?  We don't have more than 100 channels and I don't think will for quite some time.

Can we have the BACK button take the system back to the most recently visited channel?  I think it does this sometimes, but only a few seconds after having changed the channel.  At all other times it brings up the mini-EPG, and there are already two other buttons that do this: the red button and the OK button.

Thank you.  I am typically very happy with how this model functions and performs.

@Declan224 given there is a channel 200 and sometimes a channel 500 its not gonna reduce things by much as you need 3 characters

but most devices have long pauses between digits because some (elderly) can take time between pushing buttons.

Hi guys,

quick question, does the satbox app have remote record functionality? i.e. browse through the guide and schedule a recording to the box from anywhere? similar to sky.

a lot of people raising issues, but I think the box is great value for money.

Are you sure there is a channel 200?  When I try to enter that I get an "invalid entry" message as soon as I enter 20. In either case I can't access this channel, the system looks worse than I thought in this regard.

Also I do understand that for elderly it helpful to have more time to enter the numbers, but this is the system that everyone has too use.  I don't think everyone finds it as difficult, so should all of us be using an interface designed to suit a minority of users?  I'm not sure.

Can anyone tell me how to use the channel organizer?  I want to swap around and re-order the channels, but this interface makes no sense.
