Got the box plugged into my UHF aerial got good reception on all channels except for TV1 and TV2. Figured it was something to do with the aerial as it didn't seem to be pointing at any of the transmiters. I tried pointing at each transmiter, and could change it the channels missing but not get all. (this isn't a fault so much with the box but with my position in Auckland). Was about to splash out on a new aerial when I decided to try a cheap indoor UHF aerial from Dicksmiths. I can see the skytower from my house so should get any signals off there. Anyway got perfect signal quality on each channel and pretty good signal strength. Have perfect reception now and its awesome.
One problem though, last night I was playing around with Audio settings on TV3 and changed from Dolby to MHEG(or what ever the spelling is) and now I get intermitant green flashing, really annoying. Its only on TV3 no other channel is effected. I did a factory reset, still has the problem. Have unpluged from wall etc, still there. Anyone have a clue what could cause this? I have changed the sound back to Dolby and nothing makes a difference?I also can't get teletext but not sure its even broadcast on freeview UHF and never really use anyway.
Besides this which I'm sure will be an easy fix, I am very happy with this unit, Its a very simple and user friendly. I just use the HDMI cable for sound and picture to my TV, and the picture quality is amazing once you get a good signal, which for me turned out to be very simple. (although I did spend a day up and down the ladder before I tried the indoor aerial still I improved my prime signal).

Yeah I was wondering if it was something to do with the TV3 signal, it only started at the end of House I switched off over night but was still doing it this morning before I left for work. Maybe it was just a coincidence that it happend when I changed the sound settings.
I also had the same green flashing last night, I've just checked now and it's still the same. I reinstalled the firmware, put the audio on PCM, rebooted it it again and it's still there. I hope it's fixed before Heroes tonight
For what it's worth, I too have the green flashing. I think it could be a problem with the TV3 headend encoders - I did the whole re-boot, re-install firmware, eliminate cable problems, eliminate tv problems thing. Then manually re-tuned my ET box to the Sky Tower (normally tuned to Waiatarua) - made no difference, so that eliminated transmitter problems. The way I figure it; Suddenly the ET box has a problem with the TV3 stream (none with C4 which shares the same mux), or, TV3 have a problem with their encoding. I shall have a look around teh interwebs and see if others are having this problem on different brands of stb's. I've emailed TV3 with details .... will report back if I hear anything. Mal
Same flashing here on TV3 and I know I haven't changed anything. I also have MySky HDi and the HD feed on there was fine last night (house HD) and this morning, so I would say something in the freeview mux/encoding.
Grrrr, TV3 is unwatchable for me. Apart from the green flashes I am getting a weird jerky shimming picture. It looks almost like I am missing frames. Like I said it is unwatchable.
Could Peter or one of the other suppliers please respond to these posts!
Funny, I saw the same thing happening at Paul Money Hifi (AK) today. Told them about all the dramas with the ET box we are having and they were not impressed.
Nice display there but with TV3 flashing green every 10-15 seconds it was unwatchable and was not a good look to say the least.
I have had enough of my Et box and have swapped it out for a Draco which runs flawlessly for me so far. Same antenna, same setup, with none of the issues that the ET box gives me,
I'm not going to be so fast in completely blaming the ET box here. I realise that others have had issues. However, apart from a few random lock-ups, up until yesterday evening mine has been faultless. It seems to have started at the same time for all of us. So when you think about it, unless there's some kind of 'sleeper trojan' coded into the ET (kinda farfetched) the fault is much more likely to be with the TV3 HD stream. i.e. their (TV3s) engineers have changed parameters on the H264 encoder. I did find reference to a green flash problem with Sky in 2005 [ http://www.gumboot.co.nz/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=488&whichpage=2 ] - it's halfway down the page.
Am I to understand that those who now have Draco and other brand boxes are not seeing this ?
