My T2200 is a cause of quite a bit of frustration. The unit goes through short periods of stuttering, no audio, playing a few secs then pausing, rinse and repeat, then displays the Poor Signal message. This can go on for 5~20 mins. It happens pretty much on a daily basis to varying degrees, however, the unit is fine for the vast majority of the time in use. I have a relatively new aerial, with booster and it works perfectly when connected directly to the freeview tv, no signal reception issue at all, period.

I'm wondering why the signal issue occurs for short periods and at random times? If a fault within the aerial, booster or cabling I would've expected prolonged periods of poor signal reception. Could it be hardware related with the component receiving the signal? The unit is kept up to date re firmware.

Be interested to know if anyone else has encountered a similar issue or any suggestions?

This sounds very similar to my experience. A UHF Band Pass filter helped a bit (you can get these on the DishTV website), but ultimately I ended up replacing the box. The new box still has the odd hiccup but not for more than a few seconds as opposed to the prolonged periods of issues that I was having before. So, try the filter, also try the splitter as suggested and if neither works, take it back for a replacement. Don't try to put up with it.

With a good aerial signal AND a booster, it is possible that the signal level is actually too high for your T2200 to cope with.  If you have a spare two-way splitter, try putting that in the T2200's aerial line, and just leave the other connectors on the splitter empty.  That should drop the signal to just under half of its current level.  Most tuners can cope with a very wide range of signal levels, but too high is as bad as too low.

With the booster, the signal strength averages 75% across the channels, and signal quality in the high 90s. Still worth trying a splitter?

Mine was about 68% strength and high 90's for quality. So I wouldn't have said that was too high.

Thanks. My patience has dried up but thought I would give the forum a go in case there was a solution someone else had come across. A replacement sounds like a valid option .

It gets updated frequently with each software update, changes are made only if there are new features or software changes.

I have an S8200 and have mentioned this on the main thread for it.  When I press rewind or FFWD I often get no sound when pressing play.  It's not 100% of the time but probably around 75-80% of the time.  Wanted to check and see if the any of the T2200 users also have this?

I must say the T2200  is now close to the fastest fast forward i have ever had from it ,  the latest update has definitely improved that aspect.  Still locking up when fast forwarding on playback sometimes making me either watch with all the adds or power off the box, which is unwise as there is always something recording at the time.   overall an improvement and a step in the right direction

I've not had "no sound" but I have had the sound get out of synch with the images. Usually rewinding a little and pressing play again sorts it out. Doesn't happen often though, and not for a while.
