In my experience, the following are still problematic:

– non-response of transport controls on playback while another recording is taking place (as described above)

– rewind is not as stable or reliable as fast forward (either by the time value display or the video preview)

– remote key presses register multiple times – as described multiple times – earlier in the thread there was talk of a replacement remote, Josh?

– sound issues. Initial release with the early firmware had very bad synch problems. It has improved somewhat over time but there are still offsets and drift occurring from time to time. I had also noticed dropouts on playback of some material (Prime I think) in between editorial and ad slots. i.e. the first few seconds of an ad block would drop out, as if re-negotiating sample rate.

Still, the T2200 is undoubtedly handy for catching up on TV otherwise missed - but it would be good to see some of these longstanding issues resolved.

Especially for those who are currently building their all their viewing around the platform; but also as a convincing argument for those yet to buy in to this new generation of DishTV products.

its not the remote, it does the same thing with my Harmony 650, which has a 1second delay after each number button is pressed, the screen shows 2 number have been pressed even though the remote is still in its delay cycle.

That is fundimentally a programming error in the unit which should be very easy to fix, if they can be bothered.

I've had the no sound issue once a few weeks ago, my wife watches a recorded program every second day or so and has never mentioned it to me.

I must say the T2200 is now close to the fastest fast forward i have ever had from it , the latest update has definitely improved that aspect. Still locking up when fast forwarding on playback sometimes making me either watch with all the adds or power off the box, which is unwise as there is always something recording at the time. overall an improvement and a step in the right direction

The above locking up is happening with my brand new unit, why does it do this?

Also when tv is on but muted it sometimes randomly unmutes itself?

If this is a brand new unit then the current software installation, should be up to the release around March 25. Is this the case?

The unit may be brand new but has come out of a warehouse where it has been in storage for months.

Please check this first and advise what your current level is.

@Joshhill96 the updates to the media player while they may have somewhat fixed the resolution issues (which i had never saw/noticed), there are still files that are stretched too big for the screen, as the watermark is half cut off. The other outcome from it is a lot of files take 10x longer to load, and there are more and more files now that play very jittery, where as previously (on different firmware) they played and loaded very fast.

when are some of these issues where have been mentioned for months and months on end going to be fixed?

I am waiting on the next status update from our developers regarding what's included in the next software update, as far as I am aware a Recycle Bin has been mentioned.

This is definitely going to be implemented in the next software update, pending ETA confirmation.

A brand new unit once connected to the internet in the initial set up will scan for new firmware, the recent has been indeed one from the end of March. You can also scan for the update manually. The box will tell you if you have the latest version installed

I have been reading this topic with interest as a MagicTV 3600 owner looking for a new PVR for another room. I am considering the aging MTV3700 but after the release of FreeviewPlus I am reluctant to buy old technology (3700). Therefore I am very interested in the T2200, but from what I read here it seems the unit is riddled with bugs, or 'annoyances' let's say.

I have a Samsung SmartTV with TVonDemand in the new room, and so the "plus" part of the T2200 FreeviewPlus is just a nice-to-have. Can anybody see any other advantages the T2200 has over the MTV3700, apart from price? The MTV 3600/3700 has such a polished menu system that makes all other PVRs look rubbish, although the T2200 manual does show some nicer screen layouts than most.

What about Fwd/Back options on the T2200? Our MTV3600 has modified Firmware which gives us one-minute forward skip and 6 second back skip. Fantastic for jumping over ad breaks (4 skip button presses) and the 6-second jump back is brilliant if we missed something. What timing does the T2200 Skip Fwd/Back offer? If it's the usual 10 minute Fwd/Back routine, are there any custom firmware patches out there that can modify that?

Finally, does the copy-to-usb option work ok on the T2200 and can the exported programmes be played on a PC? That would definitely be a nice feature :-)

Finally finally... do you guys consider the T2200 the cream of the crop, or is there something else out there I should consider? I would spend upwards of $1000 if it buys me a smoother experience with better features than all others. I considered the Panasonic PVRs briefly but those were bashed on Geekzone by many.
