Dont let freeview plus sway your decisions, its a blurry ugly slow crash-prone mess at the moment. Perhaps they will fix it, perhaps they will make it HD, but I have about a 10% sucess rate of watching something all the way thru on 3 now on both my LG TV and my dish box on the garage TV.

Is anyone else having a problem where they (seemingly randomly) get no offset on something they record? I've got the default 5 min offset (thinking about making it 10 mins) but several times now I've recorded things to find that the offset hasn't been applied, and as a result I've missed the end of the program.

I have been reading this topic with interest as a MagicTV 3600 owner looking for a new PVR for another room. I am considering the aging MTV3700 but after the release of FreeviewPlus I am reluctant to buy old technology (3700). Therefore I am very interested in the T2200, but from what I read here it seems the unit is riddled with bugs, or 'annoyances' let's say.

I have a Samsung SmartTV with TVonDemand in the new room, and so the "plus" part of the T2200 FreeviewPlus is just a nice-to-have. Can anybody see any other advantages the T2200 has over the MTV3700, apart from price? The MTV 3600/3700 has such a polished menu system that makes all other PVRs look rubbish, although the T2200 manual does show some nicer screen layouts than most.

What about Fwd/Back options on the T2200? Our MTV3600 has modified Firmware which gives us one-minute forward skip and 6 second back skip. Fantastic for jumping over ad breaks (4 skip button presses) and the 6-second jump back is brilliant if we missed something. What timing does the T2200 Skip Fwd/Back offer? If it's the usual 10 minute Fwd/Back routine, are there any custom firmware patches out there that can modify that?

Finally, does the copy-to-usb option work ok on the T2200 and can the exported programmes be played on a PC? That would definitely be a nice feature :-)

Finally finally... do you guys consider the T2200 the cream of the crop, or is there something else out there I should consider? I would spend upwards of $1000 if it buys me a smoother experience with better features than all others. I considered the Panasonic PVRs briefly but those were bashed on Geekzone by many.

I thought Panny PVR got great ups here? Especially my BWT720.

Its great, works 100%, but the FV UI I hate it, has no FV+ either

I was really really keen on the Dish 2200 but the issues are not a great read, although the support Josh does is great. Ive had a PVR since they came on stream,

I'm not programmed to handle playback or recording issues as its been 100% fine for many years.

I hadn't read that FV+ had inherent issues. And its in SD???

Just will often not play things, and the UI is a terrible joke to get back to where you were when it decided to just stop playing.

The ad's seem to be the most reliable part of it.

Not sure if it's actual SD or just really bad 720, but youtube is vastly better than it.

i have a functional MTV3600TD it never gets used, i just use the T2200 , fast forward is OK on the t2200 so it negates the skip which i also had tweaked thanks to 2 lostkiwis , i havent even been tempted to drag out the mtv3600 a single time since. its worth it for low power use and standby alone , the more people with the units and the more feedback the better it will become.

as for overlap , i would delete those series records and re do them with the desired overlap in place and turn off live pause personally, should help :)

As for faults what we need is a main list of faults , however big it may be , then as they are sorted they come off the list , i think you would find there are WAY more ticked off the list now than there are left and it would be a great way to communicate progress and intent to resolve to future users looking here to work out if they should buy or not . I purchased my unit to record telly and watch on demand which in my area at 17mbps donload and 20ms ping is very good, maybe 720P+ quality and zero skips at all , its more about your internet connection i suspect.

TVNZ OnDemand and 3Now HbbTV apps are in HD, however it uses Adaptive Streaming and is based on your networks performance, for me I have VDSL, and the T2200 is connected via Wi-Fi.
All dependant on your router, network, and connection speeds.

This is in production and will ship with the new batch of S8200 and T2200 PVRs. These buttons learn the users input so much better than the current ones. No details on indi. sale as of yet

so is anything going to be done about the unit its self having issues with recognising commands? or registering them as being pressed twice? A new remote isnt going to help that.

and what's going to happen with existing customers and their remotes?

That is software related, Existing customers can still use their initial remotes

Could you please update the 4 letters to accurately describe what the unit is showing, ie SHIF, not Shif as you have in the doc, also rECO for record.

Its nice this has been created but it really needs to be accurate.

Customers wanted a remote with big buttons to press, compared to the original remote where the buttons were tiny, especially the bottom half so we made sure that this remote was easy to read, simple (i.e. no additional words on the remote to make it clutter) and the buttons are big, the remote can also learn the stokes of the user.

All in all, we are very confident based on the suggestions and feedback for a new remote that this one will satisfy.

When playing media the random and shuffle features need a huge look at as they are no where near random or what one would expect when pressing random or shuffle.

Played the same video twice, played a few more different ones then played another one twice, then a few more, repeated one it had played before. sounded very much like watching edge tv where the same things are repeated all the time.

IMO if you hit random it shouldn't play anything twice till it has played everything in the list. kinda like a game of bingo, can only call out each number once.
