Why on earth does the ff and back not work properly. AT LEAST half the time it freezes, extremely frustrating, when will this be fixed please?

maybe so but the odds on random when you have 119 files in a directory that out of 10 songs having played having 2 songs play back twice is very very very low so its not doing a very good job of that at all.

i only have that issue when playing files over UPnP, not with recorded programs or time shift

Could you please update the 4 letters to accurately describe what the unit is showing, ie SHIF, not Shif as you have in the doc, also rECO for record.

 

Its nice this has been created but it really needs to be accurate.

When playing media the random and shuffle features need a huge look at as they are no where near random or what one would expect when pressing random or shuffle.

 

Played the same video twice, played a few more different ones then played another one twice, then a few more, repeated one it had played before. sounded very much like watching edge tv where the same things are repeated all the time.

 

IMO if you hit random it shouldn't play anything twice till it has played everything in the list. kinda like a game of bingo, can only call out each number once.

 

I'll make sure the team looks into this. As far as the shuffle goes, that is a random generator and this tends to happen to small playlists less than 7 or 6

it happens to me as well ,   random lockups on playback , while other items are recording so i cant reboot or i lose parts out of the other two programs. it wont listen to the remote at all and keeps playing back until done and then breaks out of its lockup .  also total lockups which  have no choice but to walk away until recordings are done or pull the plug and miss sections of recordings

Mine is only locking up when I ff or rw through the ads, pain in the a*se it is!

oh yup ,  to be clear it happens when i ffd and rwd  also , just when im using the play back function ,  who watches adds ? :)

You can control the unit over IP by entering the IP address of the T2200 unit into any browser on any device on the local network and control the receiver that way, no need for long IR extensions and physical remotes. Live streaming works only on live TV only however playback is something we can look into in the future.

I've worked my way through the 40 pages (I like that there is such an active forum on this product) looking for more info on the two items mentioned in the quote, but didn't find any (apologies if I missed it).

1. Control via Browser: Port 80 is not responding on the device (Telnet from LAN PC). 8080 is for streaming and responding. Is there a different port for control? I gather that if there is an app there is obviously something available for remote control, so interested in what this is (not an iOS/Android user, so no apps I can use).

2. Streaming of "other" items like recorded shows and TV channels other than the one currently selected on the box: I am coming from a Panasonic DMR. This has a DLNA server that publishes all recordings and channels through a folder structure (even when the box is sleeping). However, it's old and my Apple TV 4 cannot connect to the DLNA server on the Panasonic. So, I'm looking for something new that will allow me to watch Recorded and Live TV in additional rooms. I was hoping the T2200 would work as the "server" here. Is this something that will be available in the product?
