Hi guys

Thanks for your help so far.
Everything is working fine except tv2 is currently out of sync, everyother channel is in sync.

Also how do you make the info that tells you what is currently on stay on screen for a little bit longer?

thanks

you'll need to post what software you are using... best place to find out is in the product documentation

Awesome guide, can't wait to get HD DTT working on my HTPC

Is there any way to launch DVBViewer in fullscreen from Vista Media Center (and maybe close MC if needed)?  And to close DVBViewer when finished & open media center.
Or has anyone tried running both apps at the same time & record/watch on both DVBViewer & Media Center?  It would be good if there was some option for those of us running Media Center until M$ get there act together & support DVB-T Mpeg4

There is a plugin called Media Control http://damienbt.free.fr/ which I have just installed which among other things (control ffdshow, switch subtitles on mkv, bookmarks, postprocessing of DVDs & Live TV (haven't been able to get postprocessing for TV working yet), resuming avi's & more) allows you to launch apps from Media Center.

thanks
Ace

brucealdridge: my experience hasn't been tooo flash..
i'm thinking maybe they took the other channels offline ?
anyone else having problems in christchurch?

I had TVNZ mux running yesterday using HVR900, 16 kms from Sugarloaf. I couldn't detect media works or kordia mux. Included antenna was useless and currently using old channel master rabbit ears but reception extremely poor today. I'm also trying to solve a ati2dvag infinite loop BSOD which has become more frequent with reception problems (I may resort to running RG6 through house)..

AMD 64 3200+ single core, Sapphire HD 2600XT, XP Pro SP3, cyberlink powerdvd ultra and dvbviewer 3.9.2.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

sorry I am using DVBview 3.9.2.0
With powerdvd 7 fully updated.

using HVR900.

just seems weird that only tv2 is affected.

i'm not sure how far i am from sugarloaf ... but in sydenham, so pretty close. i'm just using rabbit ears. Still only finds TVNZ Sport Extra (I think its actually finding it twice ... its weird)

I fixed my problem playing it though. Still weird audio/video in gbpvr, vlc and gom player, but tried kmplayer this morning and it played back the content without any problem.

So its a codec issue weird that powerdvd codec didn't work, maybe i didn't set it up right, (and plus powerdvd seems like huge bloatware, so i didn't keep it for long)

I've also received a few emails about PowerDVD not working. Are you definately running PowerDVD Ultra? No other version of PowerDVD will work, it must be Ultra.

If you're picking up a channel twice it's probably a signal from multiple MUX's.

It looks like they have removed the PowerDVD 7 Ultra dowload. They probably realised people have been using the demo version just to grab the codec...

The H264 standard trial codecs play all the samples fine? (no audio)

yep the standard trial codecs are fine. (well bar audio).

however, the trial does not come with hardware acceleration.

@Fossie

I have finally got DVBViewer running fine at home. I can confirm the Chch channels are

TVNZ 682000
TV ONE (Live)
TV TWO (Live)
TVNZ 6 (Live)
TVNZ 7 (Live)
TVNZ Sport Extra (Live)

Mediaworks 698000
TV3 (CSI Loop)
C4 (Live)

Kordia 706000
Parliment TV (Live)
Maori TV (Live)
3KSD - All blank
4KSD
5KSD
6KSD
1KHD

The only channel that was live was the Maori Channel unfortunately. Still I'm glad to know I can get it working. Cant wait for it to be live now and hopefully get it running in MP soon.

**Edit** I must have picked a bad night as all the channels are live now besides TV3

After about 6 weeks of testing and compiling etc, I manage to get it to work on Linux.
I'm using the latest cvs from ffmpeg and vlc. I'm now able to play with
vlc --program= -v dvb-t:frequency=690000000:bandwidth=8:
and change channel by rightclick and selec thannel under Program.

Finally....
