Not in my experience. The TV3 audio quality was terrible in some programs with PVR V2. There was no USB device plugged in during my testing so it wasn't that.

Mine's going OK at the moment with PVR V2 and HDMI. I did have some audio stuttering when I changed some of the settings, don't know what did it, but it's OK now. I even watched TV3 news. Time will tell.

As someone else said, the 'live' audio still went out of sync when I recorded something on my USB pen. It didn't fix inself till I unpluged the PEN.

Ive tried the firmware from vision one. it wont load just come up with USBe on leds, then reboots. The clear ET box program takes it back to sept 08 version software. At least the box works comparitively well. it would be nice to get hold of the Nov version, Can some please post it up somewhere for us all. Thanks in advance.

At least we have some options now. Which is a lot better than three months ago.

The audio issues are the biggest concern for me.

Tried two different usb sticks last night and tried formatting them different ways, but no luck, didn't want to load PVR V2 so i can't comment on this. Mine has been sold now, I'm importing a PlayTV for PS3 from UK in anticipation of Sony releasing an update for France's HD audio issues which should also work here, fingers crossed!

How much did you get for it (ET)? And how much did you get it for (PlayTV)?

I'm contemplating doing the same thing. I'm only interested in the recording side of things, my ET usually works well enough as long as I switch it off after use to make sure it's getting regular reboots. I'll probably hang on to it for the spare room or if I want to watch TV without cranking everything (PS3/AVR etc) up.

$150 for ET and it's about $160 for PlayTV from UK, Amazon has it cheaper but the game is finding somewhere that will ship internationally from UK. As it stands PlayTV will work on TV3 only, and with no 5.1, but hopefully that should all change very quickly.

Personally I can't see PlayTB being released in NZ any time soon until they can come to some agreement with the MPEG5 only EPG. Freeview do broadcast the EIT data that PlayTV uses overseas, but only for a few items ahead for Now/Next use. I can totally live without an EPG so if they can sort the audio on the other channels/5.1 on TV3 and recording then I'm set. They have live pause sorted even on HD channels so it's looking good I think, well good enough to give it a go.

I have tried PVR V1 and V2 and there was no noticeable difference between them. I still get the audio stuttering on TV3 and C4, also still get audio drop-outs on the optical out.

I would have to say that the box is more stable with both of these then the firmware versions, but the audio issue makes it completely unusable. I will be reverting back to the old non-PVR firmware and then waiting for PlayTV or something else TIVO? latter in the year.

The same I GB USB stick used to flash the bios is what I am attempting to save recordings to - though unit never even gets to recording stage as wont accept any recording times I gibe it.

Can anyone please advise why this mighht be happening & what to do about it?

Also, is there an instand "record now" option like there is with most other recording devices, if I want to record what I am currently watching?

I got that message too. You'll find that if you set the recording time to start more than 3 minutes ahead of the current time, it will accept your programme.

There is an instant record option somewhere, maybe someone else can tell you where it is hidden.

Instant record, from memory requires the "Info" banner to be showing on the screen - the one that pops up when you press the info button - then press the Red button to record.
If that info screen isnt showing nothing will happen.
