No issue with audio sync on the TVNZ mux.

kiwirock:

But I would be curious as to what the numbers are for satellite viewers when marketing to regional advertisers. It must be enough to warrant regional feeds being on satellite in the first place, or they wouldn't be doing it.

I'm not sure that it matters to TVNZ how many viewers are watching regions on DTH. Those same regions are there on DTT, they might as well continue broadcasting the regions on DTH as well. It remains profitable for TVNZ to do regional advertising.

I have an xcruiser XDSR600HD freeview satellite receiver and recorder. It is DVB-S2 compatible.

I no longer have sky open, eden +1 or bravo +1 (and never got Al Jazeera), but have all the other channels.

Am I able to retune it to receive sky open? Or will I eventually lose all the channels?

I want to keep it as a satellite receiver if possible as I have other options for UHF (the UHF receiver card is not currently installed).

Any advice appreciated.

May not be compatible with the new satellite, according to this:

https://freeviewnz.tv/support/satellite-update-april-2025/satellite-box-models-compatible-with-the-new-satellite/ (I don't see it listed there).

TP14 (SKY): Transmits Sky Open, Al Jazeera, eden+1, and Bravo+1.

12530 MHz: TP14 (SKY) uses DVB-S2 QPSK with a symbol rate of 30.0 MS/s and a FEC of 2/3.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

UPDATE

Thank you for the replies to my question.

After reading the help on the Freeview website (see link below), it sounded like satellite receivers that had not lost all the channels should be able to be re-tuned to pick up the lost channels. I tried a re-tune with different settings and was able to find all four of the lost channels.

I can confirm that the Sky Open frequency is now 12530 [H] (was 12519).

The EPG still doesn't work on Sky Open though, so if anyone knows why this is the case I would be interested to know.

Therefore it seems that devices that are not on the list of compatible ones on the Freeview website might still work with the new satellite if they have only lost some channels.

I think the ones on 12530 have epg for SKY boxes  not freeview  boxes   as its a SKY service
