Hi there,

I want to record digital freeview TV and keep the recordings as regular video file types (.avi or .mp4 etc)

I have searched for solutions online but wonder if specific rules apply to doing this with the NZ freeview broadcast, and if encryption might be a problem.

I have a dated SONY flatscreen with a built in freeview receiver, and the computer i'm using is a MAC desktop.

Hope someone can help me with what equipment i might need for doing this or if it's even possible.

Thank you

EyeTV is the de facto standard for doing this on a Mac. There are no encryption concerns.
