Hi

I enjoyed watching Channel 14 The Breeze, until it dropped off the menu a week ago.  I am still able to watch all the other Freeview Channels, Youtube, Netflix, DVD and Blu-ray.

What I have done so far to try and get The Breeze back:

Checked that The Breeze is working in another household, it is working.

Switched everything off at the wall, waited more than 10 seconds, turned all back on again.  (I switch off at the wall every night anyway.)

Reset the WIFI and SmartVU dongle.  I didn't see the point of resetting the TV as I can watch anything and everything else.

Asked 2 savvy friends if they had any ideas... their answer was reset.

Waited for over a week, as we know, sometimes providers need time to work through issues.

Have googled the Freeview and Mediaworks websites, everything is pointing to Channel 14 still being The Breeze.  No problems reported on their sites.

Have read some of the threads on here: one suggestion is the signal can drop off when it's not strong enough, but I thought the Channel would still be in the menu? Also it sounds like Mediaworks has had unfortunate issues this year, could it be that they have dropped or moved the channel?

Any help is appreciated 😀

Hi,

It'll help us if you provide the following info:

Are you watching via Internet, Satellite or terrestrial?

Where are you?

If terrestrial, what transmitter are you pointed at?

Hi,

I watch via Internet, which is Rural Broadband on the 4G network.  Don't know which cellphone tower.

I'm a couple of kilometres North East of Foxton.

OP mentioned the smart VU freeview streaming tv device. Unless there is some way it lets you block out a channel (and you have accidentally done this without being aware), it would maybe seem like it should affect everyone.

Is there a factory reset option?

You could call these guys https://www.dishtv.co.nz/sv10

My pick is you have hidden that channel somehow.

Hi robjg63

Thank you for your answers.

As above, I have reset the Smartvu device.

There is nowhere to add or remove channels that I am aware of.

I have just emailed dishtv.co.nz, I'll wait and see what they have to say.

I'm a bit concerned you are using a streaming device over 4G to watch Freeview. Foxton should get good signal from Wharite Peak, can you freeview that way?

Hi Djshadow

I guess you are meaning point an aerial at Wharite Peak?  I don't have an aerial or satellite dish.  I live rural, hence the use of 4G. I have no trouble watching Netflix, Freeview and Youtube using 4G.  My only trouble is Channel 14 dropping out of the Freeview menu.
