networkn: My password is again working today.

Just tried my account again and what do you know it works and the password was exactly what I thought it was.

Given the fact there is no way to access files without password this password working then not working scenario gives me the hebby jeebies, its looking like a great backup backup solution but as a primary cloud solution it looks too risky for now

Wade - I agree with you, but it is in beta, so this is the time they will use to take feedback, and improve the final service...

tonyhughes: I have tried (including leaving Chrome open for hours) to get upload progress, and haven't acheived any yet.

I got 100% on my 200kb file after changing account settings upload rate from automatic to fixed + large number. But I got nothing to appear in the Cloud Files area yet so it was a bit pointless exercise.

The same program as above, generating RSA keys on a Sempron single core clunker.

I suspect an i7 or better CPU could chuck them out pretty darn quickly.

I soooo want to do a million of them....

A new tweet from Kim Dotcom

There have been a few wrong reports about our encryption & security. Expect a blog post on #Mega later today.

Is that supposed to be a link? Or just an accidental hashtag search.. Lpoks like Geekzone supports hashtags?

He's posted a few other details today

Kim Dotcom ‏@KimDotcom #Mega stats: 60 uploads complete every second!

Alexa stats: After just 3 days #Mega is now the biggest .co.nz site in the world. Viva New Zealand! pic.twitter.com/CxTptSpj

Looks like uploads are fixed, I just uploaded 3 files instantly

Upload and download working very well for me this morning on a 200kb file. Might try some larger files later.

Looking forward to seeing the blog post about the cryptography and link generation.

Sometimes I feel that we as a group are overly critical of new tech companies/projects. I don't personally like Cloud and I can't see myself using something like this service, but putting it into perspective, what other company in the world offers 50GB of FREE encrypted storage? Of course it was going to be popular, of course initially it was going to be overloaded, I expected it. I am not sure why others here didn't and didn't make allowance for it in their criticism.

just tried it, uploaded 20MB file, upload went fine, progress bar worked etc.

download went fine, its a bit odd in the way it downloads, downloads via progress bar in the browser page, then once thats complete pops up a save as dialog, I assume thats for the decryption?

i dont see myself using it very often, I'll stick with google drive, skydrive.

Seems to be working fine now. Even without flash it manages to upload. Downloading however needs it in firefox.

Working fine here. Will keep using it for my original purpose - a backup of backups.

Just another place where I can find my data if things go pear shaped.

For those who uploaded a file, have you tried the link to the files? It seems they fail with "The file you are trying to download is no longer available."
