My manager has asked me to look into CDNs, with one of the requirements being that there should be a New Zealand node

Is webdrive the only option?

I've done a quick search and it looks like Akamai might, but their website isn't very clear about exactly what they offer

+1 I'm also keen to see if there is a company that provides a CDN in New Zealand

Fastly has nodes in New Zealand, colocated with Trade Me. And they're fast.

As far as I know Fastly is the only CDN other than Akamai who has nodes in NZ. Fastly is awesome and pretty reasonably priced too.

Someone asked to have this unlocked, so I will also add Cloudflare and Akamai to CDNs with New Zealand POP.

Thanks for opening this thread up again. I have been asked to identify which CDNs have NZ POPs. While the thread was helpful, the situation might have changed since the last post.

Where is the information about Akamai (as I found mixed information)?

What about AWS's CloudFront?

AWS has POP in Sydney, not New Zealand.

Edgecast have just opened a PoP in NZ as well.

I use CloudFlare mostly because of the NZ node. It's also free.

One advantage of AWS CloudFront is all data from their CDN back to any AWS origin is over their private optimised network. CloudFront can sit in front of any server, doesn't have to be AWS. CloudFront is pretty cheap, probably cheaper than CloudFlare for small websites. It integrates with AWS WAF to provide additional protection, if you want it to.
