Krullos: Hey guys,

I've been having a play with my S4 recently and flashed it to the "Official Google edition 4.4.2 (by Jamal2367)" It's working awesome, and super fast, but I haven't yet been able to get it to connect to my mobile data.

I'm on 2degrees, and have re-entered the APNs as per the 2degrees website. Wifi works fine, and I've reflashed the TNZ/VNZ/NZC modem so it's now showing Baseband version of I9505XXUEMK9.

It is configured to allow data roaming (which it does in my area 90% of the time), but still no success.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance

Checked to make sure you havent lost your IMEI?

Which bootloader are you on? If you're on non-knox then when you flash a new modem you need to just flash the GSM modem (non-Hlos?) Here's a good place to find most of them.

Anyone had problems connecting to just one WiFi access point that you've solved? I can connect my S4 to any of three wireless networks at home, friends, airports all around the world, my old work, but when I try to connect to my new work network it just says "obtaining IP address" then "failed", and tries again. Some kind of DCHP error I guess. I can't use static IP as I have no idea what subnet etc to use.

IMEI is still showing up fine.
"Device Info" lists bootloader as I9505XXUEMJ5 --- is this non-knox? (please pardon my ignorance)

I have flashed modem from XXUEMK9 to MKE, but there's no change. - I got it from the list on your above link under "Odin flashable modems for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE - GT-I9505", that's the correct one, right? Was a little bit confused looking at "Odin flashable NON-HLOS.bin (called WiFi FIX) for Samsung Galaxy S4 - GT-I9505"

So my WiFi works fine, I can send MMS, and whenever I turn the WiFi off the mobile network symbol in slide down menu changes from white to orange, but can't connect to the internet at all.
If I uncheck "Data roaming" it warns me "You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming turned off"

Well I've found the solution - was running out of options, and decided to delete APN completely and start again, chose the option of "Reset to Default" in APN settings and it started working - after some more investigation it turns out "Reset to Default" recreates the "2degrees Internet" APN type to "default, supl" as opposed to just "default" which the 2degrees website says to have it set to - that's the only difference I can see, and that makes it work!

Thanks for your help and suggestions everyone

My S4 is really driving me crazy right now. I am struggling to get through a day without having to charge it and when I used battery stats it's telling me that the following two things are using all my battery :

Google Play Services = 27% which it says if I don't use it would give me an extra 10 hours.
It's made up of the following items:

Google Play Services
Google account manager
Google services frameworks
Network Locations
Share and Compare use details
Google contact sync.

Then S Health is using 18% which would extend battery by 7 hours!

Anyone know what the deal is ?

Turn off location services, that's the cause of the google play services battery drain. They're meant to have fixed not sure it really did.

Go into S Health and hit pause. If that doesn't work get the Greenify app and greenify S Health.

If I don't use 4G, Wifi and don't make more than a few calls I use 20% of my battery in a day. If I have wifi on all day streaming music for a few hours I use maybe 40% of my battery.

These are the reasons I got an extended battery for my S4, then ditched it entirely...

What's the point of having a phone that can do all these things, but you can't use them because it chews your battery?
I don't want to turn stuff off, I want it available when I want and not have to change settings all the time.

Woo hoo the official updates are starting! http://www.sammobile.com/2014/02/24/samsung-galaxy-s4-lte-gt-i9505-receives-official-android-4-4-2-kitkat-update/

I've just installed the leak on my old bootloader and man its snappy. Though does have a couple of quirks. Looking forward to what the devs make from these.
