This looks promising, Vodafone to support adopt RCS for messaging and start retailing Pixel devices. Let's hope OneNZ follows suit.

I must admit to despite initial excitement, totally bailing from RCS across my pixel and family android devices, as I found it to result in messages never being received, and generally being slow and sucky... it feels like something that Google might prefer as a route around telcos, but it does not appear to be superior for customers who just want to reliably send a message quickly and easily.

Seems like the Pixels are increasingly becoming a viable alternative to Sammys with 5G/VoLTE/VoWiFi working on the three main carriers.

I don't think any of those work on 2Degrees (at least without a hack)

I just opted in to the Beta program and upgraded my Pixel 6 Pro and I still have VoLTE (with Skinny)

(The previous "workaround" suggested that I would have to rerun the process after an upgrade.)

What I've read here suggests Spark it works automatically, the others requires a bunch of hacking including redoing that hack each time there's an update, or have I misunderstood?

How Dailyable is the beta right now? I'm tempted to pop my P7P into the beta to see if the modem updates fix the wonkiness I have with signal here in Whanganui in some buildings.

I haven't had any issues with the current beta, so I reckon you'd be safe giving it a go.

Pixel 5a. Bluetooth occasionally says there was a problem connecting and the connection has no issues at all and works normally. That minor annoyance aside it's been good for several months.

I believe Vodafone now also have carrier settings included.
