ShinyChrome: I remember the top level S10+ being half price at PB’s Black Friday sale, but that’s a long time to wait to see if they repeat the special again.

I think it will be a bit different this year, since there is substantial feature segregation between the S20, S20+ and Ultra. With the S10 there was only the regular and plus, and then more storage options on the plus.

Then again, it will be interesting to see if the specs add up to meaningful differences, and how many people opt for the Ultra over the plus.

Are the pre orders supposed to be picked up or delivered from pbtech? Assuming sometime this week, are we expecting an email?

Considering the PB bundles haven't sold out yet I am thinking the sales figures may not be looking so flash. Usually there would be a "second wave" bundle by now?

I personally think the first phone to go BOGO this year will be mate 30 pro  :)

Damn shame cos the Mate 30 Pro is the best off-the-bat experience I've had with a phone. Installing GMS was a cinch but I wish Huawei's "App Gallery" offerings had been strong enough that I didn't have to.

Everything about the camera setup is divine; the efficiency of the device itself is stellar (slightly below the S20, say the benchmarks?); the look and feel (I've got the 5G) is the envy of my coworkers.

The single flaw I've found is lack of a multi-item clipboard. And of course inability to root.

I agree, I quite liked the mate 30 pro camera but overall lack of google services (especially the restore method has now been blocked(you need to register the device as a device with custom rom- last XDA posts), plus lack of stereo speaker and way too fragile with  lack of frame that a good case to fit it. I dropped it while picking to snooze alarm. It is already cheaper in NZ than aliexpress now.

Directly from Samsung or any other retailer ?

I am anxiously waiting for the ultra after pre-ordering on 13th Feb 2020. Longest wait in the phone delivery after pre-order :)

Pbtech on Facebook has said the shipping will start on the launch date i.e 5th March while on Twitter they replied saying the S20 bundles will start shipping on 6th March 2020.

Sorry, this has gone a bit off-topic but could you please fire me a link to the "last XDA posts" you refer to? I'm not seeing any blocking of the restore method.

Thanks and sorry for the distraction everyone.

Same here :) Courier Post shows Economy service so I think South Island (myself included) will get them Wednesday or Thursday. North Island will likely get them tomorrow.

Feels like everyone's sleeping on the base model S20. It's got the same chipset as the S20 Ultra, same display (other than size) - which means highes pixel density, and really is only inferior when comparing the cameras and the RAM.

It's still super expensive at $1500, but the pbtech bundle with the buds+ and the PXC 550-II makes it feel more like ~1100-1200, which is then competing favourably with things like OP7T pro, P30 pro, iPhone 11, Note 10+

S20 ultra seems like a money pit no matter how I look at it. There's no way that camera will be leading the market in a year's time.

Samsung didn't release the s20 5g straight away which sucks or else I would of choose that instead
