Hmmm, really tempted to pull off the panel and see what sort of Nand is in this one, because it's definitely faster than the Youtube videos I've seen, just don't want to ruin a warranty on a barely few days old phone :S

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Well yes the youtube videos are extreme that is why they were posted.
However samsung have published what is inside them all, and the generic galaxy s's are all the same...

Curious though, where did you get yours, clove?

Well I ordered another galaxy s today from clove, this one is for my wife, adios iphone for her.
Another convert for android :)

trying royal mail this time, will try my luck running the gauntlet with customs....

Yeah Clove import, actually ordered before the 1st July(tax import duty time) but Clove couldn't accept the payment straight away because my parents were ordering it for my birthday(under my name), so by the time it got here, it was 5 days after the 1st :( and I had to pay $26 + $4 ontop of the GST, still, definitely liking it, running The Pacific as a test file in 720P and the external TV-out(through omnia cable) runs nicely

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Ahh yeah been meaning to ask about that, what cable do i need for tv out?
any stuttering with the 720p?

shame the storage on phones is still small... but cool if you wanna shove a movie on it and go round to a mates to watch it on a tv etc :) shame it cant read a usb drive too...

the 16 gig ones are coming from asia mainly i think.....

16gb = 3G on 900,1900,2100

nice , 8gb one would be good for telecom and vodafone...

Am I right in the 3G on 850 would be 3G GSM 850Mhz which wouldnt work with telecom because telecom is 3G WCDMA 850 MHz?

(I don't really understand the differences but i just read that telecom is WCDMA 850, and I assume the phone would be GSM 850)

Um, if you want a generic one, the Nokia CA-75U from Trademe can be had for 4.50 + shipping, I wanted a Samsung branded one so it matches Ebay have genuine ones at about $9-11 NZD
AV A/V TV-OUT LEAD CABLE FOR SAMSUNG SGH-i8000

No stuttering at all :) which is to be expected, with such a powerful HD capable graphics chip, also plays DivX HD too, but haven't tried any of those files, just using encoded MKVs and they run well

Should work on XT, although I didn't know they had one out in 3G 850, could be the one that's being released to Telstra Australia in the next few weeks? I'd probably ask to reconfirm those specs

The codec support on this handset is nothing short of fantastic.
