I had to get a new phone here in the UK as I broke my old N98... managed to pcik up a SGS for 414GBP... the 16 GB version. So, being new to Android, I am just getting the hang of it. Def going to get a screen protector and a dif back. When you take the back off to get the sim in it looks so so cheap and crap!

Anyway glad to find somewhere with others with the same toy, I need to get my head around it and droid and get it working properly on Vodafone, but I will figure that all out when I am back in NZ this weekend.

Well either a case, scratch screen or (maybe?) a replacement back panel made of something other than the thinnest of plastics.

never had anything 'protecting' any of my previous phones so this is all new to me. Maybe if I did I wouldn't have a dead N95!

Just been googling all the settings for MMS APN etc etc, and am now thoroughly confused and off to bed. Early train to London tomorrow anyway.

Did you check out the one at Carphonewarehouse? Think they have it going on Pay as you go for 399 pounds, my mates looking at that one at th emoment, but i think it's the 8gb version

So your 16gb still has the empty SD-card slot in the back? 16gb full internal memory?

I've got a jelly case(really thin too) coming from Korea for mine, had ordered a Silicone case from Watford...but have just ordered a refund since it never arrived

I have moved across the ditch. Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Definitely :) they give him 5 days to reply, if he doesn't, it should go straight in. Ebay/Paypal are usually really good with them, just don't like the fact it won't go into my credit card, it'll just sit as a refund in my paypal, making me spend more money on Ebay...

My second galaxy arrived today this time with Royal Mail.. half the time it took with UPS and half the price..
well less than half the price because no customs/gst

yeah no surprises there, everything is cheaper in the states.

Yeah :( the gyroscope bit is crap! us Euro phone owners have to make do with a 4-way Accelerometer/Magnetometer, so we don't get 6 axis, although apparently the original has the same fidelity as the iPhone 4, so will be fine for gaming, the 6-axis just takes it that one bit further for the US owners

Yeah it is a shame they didn't make the gyroscope standard though not sure I'd even use it much really, don't really use the phone for too many games.

I'd love to see an international version of sprints version of galaxy s, physical keyboard.. camera flash etc..

Will be interesting to see if the american versions suffer from the lag too or if samsung used different internal storage.. I would assume they will be the same inside.

Yeah full 16GB internal memory, so called éxclusive to vodafone' in the UK. But I am a Kiwi so didn't want to get on pay as go and was unable to sign up.

Anyway off travelling now and will def need help with the settings once I get back on Friday.

Sorry but I disagree with that - thieving B******ds stole some jewelery I got my girlfriend for an xmas present. Literally opened the Amazon box, took out the inside parcel and shoved it through my door slot without even bothering to close the package again.

I have also ordered items from the states where they have sent me mail saying I owed 15 pence on customs duty due to a error in the rate paid by the supplier in the states - as I was away at the time they then shipped it back to the states as I didn't response to the letter int he two week period.

Royal Mail are no better or worse than any other large bureaucratic company IMHO.

Haha well yes guess it comes down to each persons experience here but going by what others have said in here it seems royal mail have been doing a decent job for most here. Sorry to hear about your experience though.
That is why you get insured deliveries of course :)

In my case I paid double to use UPS who eventually took 11 days to deliver it, royal mail charged half that and took 5 days and that 5 days was over a weekend also.

One review I read listed box contents included screen protector? Those that have their Galaxy S already was there a screen protector included in the box?
