I'm looking at buying an Onkyo home theatre system, and I see the amp has a front USB connection, ostensibly for iPhone/iPod - can this work for the SGSII?

And am I right that connecting this way bypasses the onboard DAC, and uses the one in the amp instead?

mrgsm021: I just flashed Batista 70 Foxhound Edition 3.0 based on XWKL1 with Siyah v2.6.6 kernel but I can't seem to get BLN working properly. I have the BLN control app and it is enabled but every time when a text comes through, the LEDs lit up momentarily at the same time when the screen is on, when the screen disappears, the LEDs goes off as well.

I was on v3rtr3ma.v.4.3.1 based on XWKK5 with the same kernel and BLN worked fine as it should, when the screen is off, LED stayed on.

Does anyone know what may caused this? The settings in the BLN app? Or maybe the ROM itself?

Boot into CWM, do a wipe and a dalvik wipe (under advanced options). Re install your rom.

If that does not work, then do the same as the above, but this time go into mounts and FORMAT the system partition as well. Do NOT reboot. Install your rom.

If none of those work, use Odin to flash a stock rom. Then re-root.

Thanks Brendan for the suggestions.

I'd prefer not to reflash my ROM as that is what I have been doing for the last few weeks, flashing between different ROMs and I am quite happy with Batista with its theme etc.

I did the dalvik and cache partition wipes, even factory reset before flashing Batista.

I might try a different kernel and see how it goes, reflashing the ROM would be my last resort.

Thanks again Brendan.

I believe that the kernel is what matters for BLN so i'd try a different kernel/reflash to get it working. That being said, I use Siyah and have BLN working fine but use CheckROM4...

Has anyone had the opportunity to perform a comparison between the Telecom and Vodafone SII? I have an XT one currently (work) and my personal phone (N8) just died, so I was considering getting a VF SII for my personal one, on the assumption it has all the features that my XT one has?

The major/only difference between the two if I am not mistaken is that Vodafone has the I9100 where as Telecom has the I9100T, radio hardware differs. Other than that it should be loaded with the usual gingerbread stock just a Vodafone CSC so changes to the browser name and some bloadware.

Anyone got links/faqs I can add to the second post of this thread to help newbies?

nataSnz: I've been following this thread for quite a while now and hopefully someone will be able to help. I've bought a S2 from Parralel Imported about four months ago. I've been using Siyah Kernel and DarkROM and have just gotten back from Fiji. Now, while over there, for no apparent reason, the phone started overheating. I switched it off, and tried to restart it and it would get to the first screen and freeze. It would go no further. I was able to get it into Download Mode, but since I was in Fiji, couldn't do anything further. I couldn't get it into Recovery Mode. Now, when I got back today, I was able to start the phone and got to my homescreens, but then the phone switched itself off. I am now not even able to charge the phone, and can't get it into Download Mode? The battery indicator comes up, but it will not charge up.

Sorry about the long post, but I'm desperate  for ideas.

Thanks.

Sorry about quoting myself but it was a few pages back that I posted this. I've bought a new battery and reflashed to the stock ROM and sadly, still no luck in getting any further than the front "Samsung Galaxy S II" screen. I've managed to get rid of the yellow triangle, but it still wont load into the phone itself.

Anyone have anymore idea?

I am currently running CheckROM RevoHD v4 with SiyahKernel v2.6.7 (default settings).  Battery life is outstanding and it's very smooth too.  This kernel seems to be getting lots of positive feedback from people.  I am getting through the day with about 85% battery remaining and I have a couple of email accounts with push-mail enabled.  Got to be happy with that!

go into CWM and wipe the dalvik cache. clear cache and user data and then load rom, and try again.

I can't. I'm not able to get into anything but Download Mode or the first loading screen.

Because I've put ROM's onto the phone, what do you think are my chances of taking the phone back to Parallel Imported under warranty? The yellow triangle isn't showing up when I start the phone because I've gone back to the stock Rom. Will they be able to see that I've used alternative ROM's?

If you've flashed the stock firmware back and have no triangle you "should" be fine. There's not much else you can try though.

I only wish that we'd been able to help you resolve this. All of my thoughts on resolving it have been tried. My only other thought is that there might be a jtag option to force recovery, much like the 301k method to force download mode. You'd have to research this as I've only heard it had other functions, but don't know what they are.

Edit:
I see Mauricio has already actioned my name change. Very quick - thanks!
To keep things consistent between the various forums (too many really) I've changed it from Jinx to K1000716. It's a pretty unique username so you can be fairly sure it's me if you see it elsewhere.

The avatar definitely helps doesn't it? I need to tweak it, but don't have the time to play with it at the moment. Jinx has been a long term nickname (over 20 years now!), but too many others have claimed the name on other forums. I ended up with three different usernames, which does get annoying. K1000716 is very impersonal sounding, but unique. It's actually the service number I had for 15 years in the Air Force.

I'll sign off all my posts as Lee. Anyone who remembers is welcome to continue using Jinx though.
