... Without wading through XDA, have the bulk of the JPU issues been resolved?

I downloaded Doc's JPU rom last night and when I was catching up on the thread this morning he'd put up a v3. So I've downloaded that this morning all ready to go flash JPU tonight. I feel like I'm the last one to get onto JPU now ;-)

Oh, and as always, you should confirm your IMEI number has remained intact. No one suggested you backup your /efs. Maybe you did, or had an earlier copy of it. It's fairly rare that someone has their IMEI changed, though for all that, I know it's happened in this forum, even though it's rare.

I'm going to get T-shirts printed I think:

It really is the height of stupidity that doing a full system backup (or even an app/data backup) requires root access, which borks your warranty. Do HTC phones running Android require such illogical processes?

I'm now in the same situation as sittingduckz - feeling somewhat vulnerable because I can't get rooted in order to do a granular backup.

Have you had a look at DrD's post on XDA? I think it's extremely comprehensive. As for Doc's rom, he puts a change log in his posts. This is what's been noted since JPU turned up:
V 1.0 XXJPU: 1st release
V 1.1 XXJPU: added hardcore kernel
V 2.0 XXJPU: rebuilt base, few bugfixes
V 3.0 XXJPU: disabled increasing phone signal, new market, new highres gallery (maybe a bit slower), optimized ZEAM added, new browser. Better market fix, updated voicedialer, tweaked system for speed.
V3.0.1 market fix

And lucky for me, since this morning there's another version [groan]

Heh I still haven't flashed JPU. waiting for all the issues to be resolved.

Ummm. . . . .Wifi losing it's settings and bluetooth not pairing up correctly. . . . .And. . . .other stuff as per DrD's post earlier.

Interesting, is that pure stock, or with lagfixes and such like running? I've not had those problems, stock with CF Root/recovery flashed.

To those with issues: Did you factory reset after flashing? Flash PDA/Modem/CSC in Odin, or only part of them? Use a non-512 PIT? Restore system settings, rather than just apps with Titanium?

I thought I read somewhere that there was an update to Titanium that fixes the problem. But if not, there's Kilpak's instructions with a txt file that overcomes the problem that *some* people have reported. It does seem to be luck of the draw.
