Had a chat with the Motorola AU live support people and asked about the two SIMs if they were WCDMA capable.

They said "Luz: yes both sims will work on 3G"

Guess I'll be heading down to JBHiFi in the next day or two to get one . I can live with a 8Gig version but a 15 Gig would be better..

Just bear in mind that its normally only one sim at a time that can use 3G and you have to switch manually between them. Could be worth checking.

That doesn't worry me as long as both SIMs are on standby for in calling calling and SMS..

I think you have it all wrong these are Open ended none Carrier unlocked phones that works on all NZ networks.

I presume having 2 sims active in the phone would decrease battery life somewhat?

Would it be worse if you had one sim for Telecom and one for Vodafone say - as opposed to a vodaone/2 degrees combo?

As much as I am tempted - I think I would want the 16GB version and there doesnt seem to be any sign of that so far.

I was thinking about getting one of these, but, finding there is no micro sd slot kills it for me.

The only thing I can think why this phone was 'great' was for the processor and screen -- but, none of that is any good if you can't fit barely any stuff on the phone.

You can fit a lot on 8GB - just not a huge amount of video or audio. On my S4 I only have 2.5GB of apps and a few GB of music. It'd be fine for many people, but probably not power users.

I'm using my Meenova USB OTG reader on my Moto G on 4.4.2. It won't mount automatically as it did in 4.3 but there are root and non-root apps that can make USB OTG work. I can read and write using Stickmount.
