.....and here's me loving the Maps [brut] app. :-)
I have more than enough data on the phone, so it's not an issue in the city. I guess it would be an issue in the rurals with poor coverage....but then there's usually only one road at that point anyway and I do have a map. ;-)
I'm just not mentally capable of spending $150 on a GPS app when i can do just as well with a $7.50 paper map....and a couple of minutes at the side of the road either before I start (short journey) or every hour or so (long journey in strange area).
Maybe if I was being paid a $1,000 / hour I could justify the time saved versus the expense.
kiwitrc: Last trip overseas I used Mobile Atlas Creator to download maps I wanted and then used them offline on Brut Maps.
Kilack: Heh yeah you can do that but I think people on this site lose track of what an average user can do and what they are willing to do..
