PaulBrislen: We are indeed stocking the Galaxy S and it is a beautiful device... very cool.
Not sure of price/timing/etc yet but we'll add it to the line-up of Android devices so we'll have four or five on sale.

eracode: This might sound tongue-in-cheek but is a serious question - once VF is selling the GS, will those of us who bought our GS overseas (ordered from Clove UK myself) and who are using their GS on the VF network, will be able to get OTA upgrades through VF? eg when Froyo for GS comes out.

As I understand it the various handsets "calls home" to check for updates. "Home" can be a server provided by the manufacturer or Google. The carrier (eg. VFNZ) or your chosen WiFi connection are just the pipe that connects the handset to home.

I was under the impression, probably mistakenly, that the way to get official Samsung updates was by connecting via Kies? Do you mean that when I downloaded upgrade JM1 via Kies last week, I could have done that another way?
eXDee: This is interesting, because i've heard Telecom are testing the 850mhz version of it.
