WOW that's real exciting! It sounds as if you aren't going to have to pay any duty then. I really hope it all works out for you. Let us know what you think

Kinda feel like the branding isn't right, a lot of people get YouShop and YouPost confused.

Hey Guys,

I've started a thread over on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995691 with buying options available to us here in NZ and this is what we've come up with so far.

It may be of use to some of you, or it may not. I've currently got a pre-order 16GB N4 from Negri Electronics. It's probably about $100 more than I would have paid trying to get my bro in Oz to get one for me (he tried on the 13th and failed miserably). This way I have a pre-order and I don't have to worry about it.

Just got my 8GB Nexus 4 this avo. I've only played with it for a few minutes but damn it's a nice looking phone. Physically it's a beauty and makes my Galaxy Nexus look somewhat tacky and plasticy.

I'll give some more detailed impressions after the kids have gone to bed.

bugger, just checkec tracking and at 4:20 it's status changed to 'held for clearance', they shouldn't be charging me as the gst will be under $60, but last time I had this happen it took around a week to get the package in my hands, fun times :(

Sorry... I'm a bit of novice, but after reading 20 odd pages on this site and then digesting a few reviews of the Google Nexus 4, I really like the thought of it being my next phone.

Would someone please help answer the following:

Like others I have my Google Wallet set up for the next time they come on sale and if I am successful in purchasing one, is it as simple as putting an NZ SIM card in and using here in NZ? Or does it need some kind of tweaking to be used on our shores (If so, what kind of tweaking?)

In terms of the google wallet, for those who were successful, did you manage to buy the phone using an NZ credit card with an NZ address? I work for an American company, so my work Internet goes through our servers in the states. It was fairly simple to set up the wallet details on Google and it let me add my National Bank credit card. Although I couldn't fully checkout the purchase on Google Play, it let me get to the last screen when attempting to buy a Nexus 7.

Is this how it should work, or would it error out on the next step when authorising? I suppose what I am asking, is do I need to (somehow) change the address of my National Bank visa to an American address?

Appreciate anyone's help on this and for those of you who have the phone, enjoy.

I got mine today, stuck in my vodafone and it works. The only thing I did was physically cut my sim card to fit the slot because I couldn't bring myself to pay Vodafone $20 for a micro/mini sim :-)

I just logged into google wallet, added my Kiwibank Mastercard and gave it the billing address of my remailer. I was then able to purchase from the play store though other people have reported this doesn't work for them.

Having played with the phone for a bit tonight and comparing it to my Galaxy Nexus I can safely say the Nexus 4 is fantastic value. It's fast, physically gorgeous and the srceen is beautiful. If you can look past the fixed battery and small storage (things that don't bother me) then this phone is the one to get.

Mmmmmm the screen.....sooooo good.

Ah I thought it cost $$. I might pop into Vodafone tomorrow then and trade my custom made sim for a real micro sim :-)

Yes. It's completely unlocked (If you buy from the Google Play store), so you can just put in whatever SIM you want and off you go.

Likewise - waiting for it to clear customs. A little nervous about manufacturing defects. Don't think warranty claims are going to be a viable option.
