Hi everyone.

Was wondering if someone have tried anykind of lagfix on the Froyo 2.2 stock version. It has been almost 2 weeks since I upgraded and was working fine upltill recently, but now it is showing considerable lags, specially since the Market has changed (it kind of cool...)

I will appreciate if someone who has tried it and have not had any issue with the lagfix and have not lost any features (last time I did a Voodoo lag fix on my stock 2.1 which had resulted in no vibration working for me) would recommend

I've got V4 but didn't know it was called "final". I looked to see if there were maybe two versions but no. So I guess I'll stick my hand up :)

The battery drain is really bad. I turned wifi off last night and had 3% battery drain in 8 hours. But if you leave wifi on, expect your battery to practically drain over an 8 hour period.

I'm not sure if it relates to Docs rom or JPU in general. ROM Manager doesn't work well - can't take a backup of your ROM, however CWM has a backup function so that's the work around.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I preferred V9 of the ROM, which was pre JPU.

Lots of things are new in JPU (or since), Market has changed, Google Maps v5 (which is way cool!) but these aren't specific to the ROM version.

What version of Docs ROM are you on, if you're on a customised ROM at all?

Im on the Doc V7.6.2 - JPO based rom but im just downloading the new Docs XXJPX V5.1..

One quick question, what lag fix are you running on these roms ? i tried the NO-RFS STANDARD but was thinking about trying the voodoo fix .. need more speed.

Hey Snowsteve. I wasn't using any lag fix at all. I found them to be responsive without needing to amp it up. The Darky rom I've got on at the moment has Voodoo and I think it's a little too fast. When scrolling through the app drawer it really does get away on you and you over shoot what you're looking for. I'm sure you'd get used to it, but I think it's a bit too much.

As Kiwijunglist says, you'll need to do the fix on the kernel before flashing the latest Doc Rom, or flash back a stock ROM and then get 2e, update.zip and then flash Doc's rom via CWM.

Hmmm Crud, i missed that step.. Does it matter (the rom seems to be working fine) ? or do i have to flash again ?

Also now, after updating, kies will not detect the phone, which is a real pain - never had an issue with kies before.

Yes, it (the kernel fix) matters. It may not even appear that there's any corruption, but it can sneak in. And the Kies issue is a known one. I'm pretty sure on Doc's front page it's noted that there's now a fix for it. And DrD (in his XDA guide/config/et al) has a link to where you can set a SGS tools command that will allow you to connect to Kies.

Hi there. I can't help sorry, other than to say what you're noticing is normal. Everything seems fine but slowly lag creeps in. And when you're on a stock ROM it's par for the course. I'm not on a stock ROM. And the ROM's I've chosen have been optomised and don't require any lag fix.

Hopefully someone out there will have some details for you. Cheers.

Thanks and hopefully someone would be able to provide some solution, having said that I am very tempted to use an optimized ROM but will resist for now...

Well my I9000T has prompted me to upgrade, no KIES reg hack or whatever so legit upgrade but my battery is to low lol.

@ Ventolin, when you do upgrade can you post the baseband,kernel and build specs so we can check to see if it is the same upgrade that was offered with the reg hack?

You're right. It does give an error. This is the link to the post comment that contains the link for the MTP.apk file - the app that's needed to connect with Kies.

You're right. It does give an error. This is the link to the post comment that contains the link for the MTP.apk file - the app that's needed to connect with Kies.

Upgraded to v6 of Docs rom, (after fixing corruption issue) applied voodoo lag fix, and WOW the phone is faster than its ever been before, its actually what i expected it to be from the start.. great stuff !!

Also downloaded kies air which is handy to sync contacts if you cant get kies to work :)
