Okay so I know what the issue is. You have to disable Reactivation Lock in the security settings as this prevents you from rooting your device. After disabling this you won't get the "<ID:0/020> FAIL! (Auth)"".
After you have rooted your phone as described at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537&page=1 then you can re enable the Reactivation Lock.

Cheers

Can be quite dangerous if you forget the password or purchase a secondhand device which has not had the reactivation lock disabled. Nice that the feature is there, though, prevents devices from being reflashed if stolen.

A few issues I'm noticing with music playback. If I get an alert, it seems to pause the music a second or so before sounding the alert then after the alert has played it's a good 3-4 seconds until music starts replaying. When playing on shuffle it seems to get rather confused if you decide you don't like the song and try to skip to the next song with a whole lot of start stop going on.

This could well be the class 4 DSE card I store music on but I would have thought that quick enough for music.

Also as mentioned the blocking icon being there when you arn't in your scheduled blocking time frame is a bit weird. I gave up on the finger print unlock, less hassle to put in a pin/pattern. Trialing the HTC M8 in a few weeks, hopefully I like that more.

So I picked up a S5 from JB Hi-Fi a week or so ago. Am am bit annoyed as it has Telecom firmware. Great device, absolutely awesome. Just some things seem a bit laggy, and I don't seem to get as good performance from 3G data, but having 4G rocks - this is on the Vodafone network.

I want to get rid of the Telecom firmware and whack Omega on there. I am having all sorts of trouble trying to install CWM recovery. I thought I had bricked at one point but was able to get it back by re-flashing CF-Auto-Root.

Has anyone got a custom ROM running? And if so, how did you get CWM (or a variant) to work?!

So Telecom is disabling this feature on their handsets. I have a 2D device that I use on Vodafone and HD voice works fine on it.
