Is the pressable home key like the one on the Note 9, gone now, or can it be enabled again in the options somewhere?

I noticed that being gone too.  I just swipe up using gestures.

Got home from work and put the phone on the wireless charger, was down to 80%.

It had been 10 hours since I left in the morning.  Mostly in my pocket on standby, but had it out a couple of times.  I had linked to the car with Bluetooth.  I also stopped at New World and used the loyalty card app on the phone, the paid with Google Pay on the phone.

Battery life is pretty good, obviously I could have used the phone much more and still had plenty of power left.

That's 2 presses instead of the one I used previously. How frustrating they keep "optimizing" things but actually make it more button presses. Microsoft I am also looking at you!

How's it two presses?  Just press once and move your thumb up?

From within an app, I have to swipe up and then press the home screen button?

Previously it was just push down hard where the home button used to be prior to the Note 9.

I don't understand what you mean, not suggesting you're wrong, but I don't get it.  I can go home from within an app by swiping up from the bottom.

If I swipe up from the bottom within an app, I get presented the android back home and open apps bar, and then I have to click home.

I cannot from within an app, swipe upward from the bottom to return home, in 1 motion.

Do you have your back bar pinned open ?

Oh that's weird, that's not what happens for me.  I swipe up and it goes straight to the home screen.  You might just need to tinker with your settings.  I don't have the navigation bar on screen, i just use gestures only.

If you are looking for a decent inking app I have tried them all and prefer Squid.  My only gripe is that I prefer using it on a 10 inch device.  My 10 inch device is now a surface (with pen) and there is no Windoze version.

Man, this change in power button is going to take some getting used to. 10 years of muscle memory to retrain.

Yeah, I don't love it. Nor the in screen finger print reader not the lack of the home button function.

I'm mostly used to all the form factor changes now.  You'll get there.  The one and only nitpick I have with the device at this stage is that the curved display touch input is too sensitive.  The fleshy part of my palm sometimes interferes with finger input on the main part of the display because it already registers a touch on the edge.  Minor, and I am working around it easily enough.  Just need to work that into my muscle memory over the next few days.
