Also does anyone know if Titanium Backup will backup the downloaded map tiles for Navigon?

Haven't used Titanium Backup, I have used Navigon Fresh to backup downloaded maps.

I've just downloaded Navigon Fresh and installed, created a new account and selected to backup. I've connected the phone via USB but it doesn't find it. Did you have to do anything to get it to recognise the phone. I've tried with USB debugging both on and off. Cheers

Didn't do anything, just had the phone in Mass Storage Mode. Started Navigon Fresh and selected the device via My Navigation menu. Cheers

Thanks for that. Seems it'll only work if you're in Mass Storage. However it crashes now when I select to take a backup. I get a FreshCLI.exe has stopped working window. Oh well. Time to Google. I've got the right system requirements so I'll go see what else might cause that message. Thanks for your help.

Tried Navigon for the first time today at my first day at work, to and from. It's not too bad actually and very accurate. Didnt download the aussie/nz maps though, however the maps drew up pretty quickly via 3G.

Looks interesting. Compatible only with Glitterballs's kernel.

Has anyone else got need for speed shift and have issues? It doesn't load at all for me.

No, I've read plenty in Doc's thread where it's still unstable and one of the beta testers/helpers continually soft bricks his phone using it.

Last night I installed an app, Screen Filter. It basically will decrease the brightness of your screen which is ideal for night time. Browsing at night is really difficult, the glare is too much and I for one find it hurts my eyes. Anyway the screen filter app works as it's designed and it was a much more pleasant experience browsing last night.

The other positive side is that my battery life has improved. Usually I'll go to bed with the phone fully charged and it'll be around 71% when I get up. That's with a bit of usage when I first get to bed, often during the middle of the night (earthquakes and whatnot waking me requiring to see if the rest of Chch is OK).

My usage was no different last night and I woke with 89%, it quickly flicked to 88%. But that's a good saving, much more like I'd been used to on 2.2 v6 of Doc's rom.

The only other change I made to my phone yesterday was to uninstall Terminal Emulator and one other app (can't remember, but the reason I uninstalled - I don't use it) and to apply the Generation X theme. I can't see how either would produce a battery saving since the theme still uses my wallpapers for Widget Locker and the background.

Wow, I'm still recovering. :(

Anyway, my stereo in the car stopped picking up tunes on my phone. Regardless of where the music is stored (sd or external sd). I'm going to play around with the settings more.

Do you think it matters where busybox is placed on the phone? Because recently I've changed the location of busybox (placed it in the root of /voodoo) and the car headunit stopped picking up the music off the phone.

I was going to purchase that until I saw the reviews(doesnt work on galaxy s etc). So I went surfing the problem and found this: http://getandroidstuff.com/speed-shift-full-galaxy-milestone-droid/ and it works well with no hiccups. If EA got there problems sorted I would have purchased it.btw it's in german to start with

That touch navigation will be a winner. Plenty of people complaining how their buttons are wearing out. Of course those that have been beta testers and constantly flashing new ROMS etc are at the top of that group of people.

I love the animation. Have you noticed a drop in battery with it? I would not want to be awake at that time of the day. DamianGTO has now started creating a kernel using Steam. Plenty of people like his kernels so maybe something good is in store soon. He has a kernel ready for testing.
