jeffnz:
Have to say still not overly impressed with ICS battery life as I'm not running or doing anything differant that I was on GB, maybe all the eye candy has a trade off.

Yep, I've noticed that too, the battery life on stock ICS is not as long as stock 2.3.5. I guess 4.0.4 and upwards will improve things.

I also got the email saying they had sold out (as I wanted to increase my order to 2 batteries rather than just one). Oh well, at least one will be on the way.

So far I am not loving my 2000mah battery, seems worse for life than my 1650 stock battery.

Also I am not a huge fan of Omega ROM v7, lots of little issues, things like my names don't always appear when I am typing in the dialer, and number format for phone numbers is off. Is 8 Stable? What about Wammalite, should I try 10.5 (Heard 10.6 isn't worth upgrading to).

Have you done a few charge cycles? Often battery life improves after the battery has been fully charged and  drained a few times. You may find you get longer life after a week or two of use.

As I understand it, these are Li-Ion Batteries and shouldn't need this treatment?

Is there also a good battery run down utility available?

I'm really happy with the battery.  At 18hours I'd had 4hrs 40min screen time and it was at 33%.  And given this was overnight as well it must have gone into sleep mode. Or am I misunderstanding that.  I'd have expected more screen on time if it hadn't gone into sleep mode.  After 5 minutes the screen times out for me.

EDIT:  I'm now at 5hrs 53min screen time, 19% remaining and discharging 20hrs 24min.
EDIT2: And my display is at auto brightness.  Prior to the new battery I had it set to the lowest, without auto brightness.

Those with the extended battery (like mine arriving soon), should remember android keeps statistics about the battery based on past usage; therefore when you put a new or bigger battery in those statistics will be wrong leading to wrong estimates of battery time and icons on the screen.

Do a few full charge and discharge cycles before judging.

found the dumb bug -
1) enabled google location services for android so that my samsungdive could activate gps - result: gtalkasync conn keeps wake locking
2) my ms exchange service is on all the time for some reason - even when turned off to never push/check mail. froze it, using a free 3rd party app.

now sleeping like a baby ... but on screen time seems to be draining it much faster than 2.3.5

phew

Any thoughts yet on Omega 8? Seems to be going very smooth for me.

I don't know your method of download, but for a version 8 on XDA, the torrent file states v9.  Is that what you found? I'm unsure if they're in the process of updating the XDA thread to v9 or it's just a file naming error.

Nah I used uploaded.to I think. I wasn't a torrent in any case. It was definitely called v8. Make sure the torrent is for the ics version of omega.

V9 was released last night, based on LP4.
