I contacted Hauwei directly from my phone. They asked for a screenshot which I thought was quite funny. I'm going to assume they mean photo. So sent the one I posted here, will see what they say. I'm in no real hurry as I would rather get the second batch of phones where they presumably fixed the problem.

Yes I called them this morning, the guy said that phones with these screen do have some green bleed. Told him that none of my Samsung's every have. He then text me the address to fonefix and to go and drop it off with everything tomorrow and to delete / reset the device. I'm back on my op6 and the phone is all packed up ready for tomorrow.

Good to see them take immediate responsibility, I cant say you would have been so lucky if your samsung had been one of the ones with bleed, or an apple, or whoever else has had issues implementing stupid curved edges introduced by samsung. mate 20 pro easily best phone imo, but definitely prefer the class and simple elegance of the nokia 7.1.

I can tell you that the mate 20 pro has the best life any of any smartphone i have had.  When back to my op6 on sunday and really notice the difference yesterday at work.  Where my mate 20 pro would be at 95% the oneplus was down to 75%

true... wow. one reason i kept my small windows phone going was it would last 3 days so i do appreciate battery life, more the hassle of charging.

but doesnt the mate 20 pro also charge that big tank in under an hour as well?

this time a camera phone has done its camera impact with a quality camera, leica is the best and it shows, the pixel 3 keeps up in some places but it looks artificial. which if saving to jpg is not what you want. i think they need a hasselblad in the pixel 4 rofl. In daylight most cameras are pretty good now, but wow the Leica night mode is getting close to a 1" sensor level Camera like the rx100

Also surprised me they included the lg g6 and not the P20 non pro which has an excellent large pixel leica setup for the same money.

My normal day

Charge phone when i go to bed, normally charged in under an hour and i take it off the charge before going to sleep.

Wake up and it's still @ 100% get up at 4.30am

Goto work and use it for emails, social networks, reading news, music in the car (30 minute trip) currently at 9am its at 87%

Will leave work around 1.30pm and it will be about 75%. travel home, go for a work out (normally 60 - 90 minutes) listen to music etc.

Goto bed around 8.30pm and it's normally around 50%

Repeat.

With my note 9 and op6 i would have to have it on the way home in the car, don't need to do that anymore :)

My normal day

Thats actually really useful info. I left the gym and got into Callisthenics, now mainly bush walk and the like along with body weights at home, but its on these walks I so often wish I had my rx100 (or even better my Sony FF mirrorless) with me but they are too big. Where the phone goes everywhere and thats where the Leica camera has me gripped. I just wasnt sure the reality of how much Juice its going to hold. Im not really a social media user aside from FB messenger, I do read the news every morning, i play the odd game of NBA etc but maybe 30 mins a day. Its mostly the camera that interests me. Thats why Id love a flat screened version, like the Galaxy S7 or even the P20. Perhaps the P20 is the better choice for me. But id love to get rid of the monochrome cam and get the ultra wide angle. Also Im ok with LCD vs Oled. But the p20 doesnt charge as quick or hold as much juice.

You sound like you have a cool job, Id love to be able to do earlier shifts at work as im a morning person. I use to hit the weights at 5am before work because I was bored, and was always too tired at 5pm to consider the gym, where everyone else at work was like how do you get up so early. Circadian rythym, I think, I can hear the first birds at 430am and the main tweeters start about 30mins before sunrise at about 5am. So thats when I do my walks, so the low light ability of the Leica is also really a big plus, that gsm comparison with the pixel 3 was quite obvious the Leica hardware is doing a lot of the work, where Pixel software does its best. Would be interesting to see the Pixel APK used on the Leica camera.

Has anyone that pre-ordered the Black Mate 20 Pro been told when the retailer will receive them?

I am waiting on PBTech who seem to be struggling to get any useful information from the distributor. I leave the country this Friday for 14 months and this phone was to be my travel camera but it looking increasingly likely that it is not going to turn up in time.

I pre-ordered Black Mate 20 pro from PBTech and received 1 week after it was officially launched / released.

There are some on sale as well now, so no reason why they cannot give you the phone now and send you the freebies later to a local address?

Why black? The green is nice and a cover will hide the back anyway lol.

Just got home and on 70%

Oh man that sucks. Ring them for sure. I know the guys in Aus are struggling with preorders still too, so clearly more popular than anticipated or had a parts availability issue. I feel for you, Id HATE to have an incredible trip ruined due to lack of camera.

There are a lot of phones that can produce about 95% as good day time shots for a lot less, you need large pixels and OIS. But low light is where this bad boy shines, and its a stellar phone technology wise. Id recommend a small tripod like a monkey grip pod for longer exposure shots and to reduce noise from high ISO along with being able to do light streams etc, definitely save those special shots to RAW so you can work on them in light room or what have you when you get the time (shoot to both so you can post a jpg straight away if the mate 20 does that), what a blast. have you considered looking if its available where you first land? avoid tax at that ;-p Good luck.

As they say spend your money on life experiences not stuff, sometimes the 2 are one in the same :-) Travel and photography is a prime example

I have been in email communication with the PBTech Procurement Manager since the 8th November who has repeatedly told me they have not received any stock of the Black Mate 20 Pro. I don't care about the colour. Just want one that won't get the green screen issue.
