I assume the Note 10's response is similar to the S10 series; my S10 does unlock immediately if I've placed my finger/thumb on the scanner as I lift up the phone (with lift to wake turned on, of course); it's just much trickier to ensure the finger is in the right place/on the right angle for the scanner (compared to a rear scanner) - but there's certainly no need to double-tap the screen.

That said, I'm happy to run the risks of having face unlock turned on, and that avoids having to use the fingerprint scanner most of the time.

So, I have fully migrated after resolving my wifi issues and as far as I can see there is no way like with my note 9 8 and 7 to have the phone unlocked and resuming whatever I was doing, with 1 press. IE with my note 9, I would pick up my phone, my finger naturally went to the Fingerprint scanner and I was in business. Right now I have to double-tap the screen then use the Finger Print scanner?

I am a big fan of smart lock. I have my phone unlocked based on location at home and then based on Bluetooth when it's connected to my Galaxy watch and Galaxy buds. All this means i almost never have to unlock it and if i walk away from my phone it's locked so is secure.

For security reasons I don't use smart unlock.

Wouldn't apply to everyone.

I was watching a movie via VLC casting to a chrome cast.

Every 10-15 minutes it would stop playing and the phone would say something like the storage media is not available.

This is on the internal memory.

I wonder if the phone is shutting something down thinking its inactive?  If I moved the phone lots while watching it did not have this issue.

I tried turning off the power saving features like putting unused apps to sleep but that did not change anything.

Anyone else seen this?

8 percent battery used in 3 hours so far and the phone is noticeably faster esp to start up I am pleased about that.

Not sure what all the complaints are about with the fingerprint scanner. Mine is instant, I recorded my FP twice, removed the screen protector and then added with last nights up-date she's brilliant.

It's not an issue with it not working properly, it's just far more awkward for me than it was on the back.

My fingerprint scanner is fine no problems instantly and using all the time on samsung pass great saves putting in pass words.Battery at the moment looking really great considering using heaps and setting up charging got a shock as so quick from 22% to full in less than one hour. Missing the led lights tried couple apps but just useless so will have to persevere without leds will get used to and sound is really great. Link for video on how to use 3D scanner haven't had chance to try out yet.

Well I have had a fairly typical day so far and my battery is 20% drained at this point. There is the possibility I could go to bed with 50% remaining at this point, though my after hours usage tends to be more gaming which is intensive from a battery perspective.

Wow, well I'm not sure if I use my phone heavily or there's some draining issue going on, but I'm usually going around 10% per hour. I guess usage patterns are all different between everyone, so I'll give it a few more days before I worry (or it's probably just me).

I find it isn' very good if wearing glasses, but using iris scanning too, and it often has difficulty through the glasses. Face recognition by itself is not very secure as a photo can be used to unlock the phone.

AOD by tapping is what I do, but it has quaick a bit of lag, 1-2-3 seconds lag, compared to my ipad when tapping to wake the screen. But it is a bit of a waste of time, as on an ipad, tap to display, will display the normal unlock screen. I wish the samsungs had this option, I haven't come across away to do it.

The AOD fingerprint is key for a faster screen on and unlock. My experience has been pretty good, but not perfect. But enough for me to never feel like its slow or inconsistant. When its in my pocket the AOD is deactivated and once i pull it out it turns on the AOD fingerprint fairly quickly. And i just put my finger on the AOD fingerprint symbol and the phone screen turns on and unlocks the phone.

As for a reference to what your phone should perform on battery, use this example of mine which was with max resolution, AOD and 80% brightness. I have been averaging a little less than this but this is a at best situation.
