Geektastic:

I can't see that providing much drop protection.

It should stop chips on the corner and the ends are just higher than the screen so if you put it down upside down then the screen is not touching your desk by about 1mm :P

Has anyone tried the feature where two Bluetooth earphones can be connected at the same time?

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

I am sure it did say "while stocks last" for the cards.

Might be other retailers that still have stock.

Yeah, I checked online, Harvey Norman, JB Hifi, and Noel lemmings, and none of them mention the memory card now.

Good idea tho'

*sigh!*

Yep. I have. Two bluetooth speakers. One UE and one Sony. It was loud! Very impressive. There was a very slight sync issue (or maybe even difference in bass) which was just noticeable however it is great.

Didn't try two bluetooth headphones but I imagine it would work great also.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Hiamie:

I'll wait to see what happens to the price or what future offer may develop... or maybe have a closer look at the competitor models.

I'm putting all my eggs into the Pixel 2 basket (now only 6 months away). Hopefully, following the overwhelming positive press on the S8 design, Google will be have no option but to get rid the humongous bexels on Pixel's next iteration! Once they're gone, I'm in.

always could get the s8 and sell it in 6 months wont have dropped in value much by then have best of both worlds ....there's always going to be a wait for the latest

6 months is too long lol

Social Bitcoin meetup every 2 weeks in Hamilton PM me for details

In an earlier post I asked why bother with all the hassles of pre-ordering. The recent posts on the now non-availability of the 256 SD card have largely answered this for me. It was a big enough carrot to warrant pre-ordering (-;

I remember last year with the s7 they had pre-order bonus etc, I picked one s7 edge a month after released and kicked myself for not doing the pre-order.  It's currently in the phone but it might make a move over to my acer switch.

Legally they would be on very shaky ground if they had continued to offer the "pre-order" bonus after the pre-order date had passed. The commerce commission takes a very dim view of such things as well they should.

Yup the pre order was worth it for me, a 256gb card and $100 credit. Can't sneeze at any of those.

I am curious on how people upgraded to the S8, I upgraded because my 24 month contract had run out 3 weeks ago and this was an opportunity to upgrade from my S6 and get the $600 subsidy. Are you's on open plans and upgrade or your plan has ended etc or are you just paying full price for the phone. I thought you had to be either a new customer or be upgrading your account.

I'm on open plan, already had a phone on payments however spark will let you book up another phone and just bill the outstanding payments of the last phone in the next invoice.

On a $59 plan which covers most of what I need currently.

Next year I might just do the trade up thing.

I suppose they could just offer a different bonus and call it something else!
