DANOFDANGER: The AOD fingerprint is key for a faster screen on and unlock. My experience has been pretty good, but not perfect. But enough for me to never feel like its slow or inconsistant. When its in my pocket the AOD is deactivated and once i pull it out it turns on the AOD fingerprint fairly quickly. And i just put my finger on the AOD fingerprint symbol and the phone screen turns on and unlocks the phone.

As for a reference to what your phone should perform on battery, use this example of mine which was with max resolution, AOD and 80% brightness. I have been averaging a little less than this but this is a at best situation.

Guess that isn't so bad compared to one full day with mine, pic below.

Used it fairly heavily to stream videos and music. SOT lines up but I had adaptive brightness and adaptive power on. Might have to leave it on idle overnight to see if there's actually any draining going on then.

Also forgot to mention I was in a video call for over an hour as well. But noted with Spotify, it does tend to drain pretty fast when I use it. Might switch to a different streaming service or possibly go with local files for music.

DANOFDANGER: It is suggested that the whitestone dome does not effect the fingerprint accuracy. I have found that it does. As i get errors saying "press harder" which id never seen before. But it still functions quite well with just a little more pressure to the sensor.

Received my Dome today and installed a couple of hours ago.  Seems to be working fine, I've noticed no change in fingerprint functionality.

Where did you order yours? I'm looking to get it too, but I'm also feeling very risky and want to go screen protector-less for this. It feels amazing so far without a film or tempered glass on the screen for that full experience 😌 but I always have a case on my phones anyway!

Thats good to hear, but this does not mean its as good without. I can almost garentee that there is a reduced performance of the sensor. Whether this is an increased response time or higher error rate. The way the ultrasonic sensor works is through wave propagation. Where ultrasonic sound energy (much like ultrasound) is directed towards the area where the finger is placed. Where some energy is absorbed by the finger and the rest is reflected. This reflected energy can then be used to generate a unique "image" to be used as a form of biometric security data. The reason common screen protectors have failed, is because of the lack of a medium that can adequately transfer this energy without attentuation (energy loss). And for most typical adhesive protectors, air is the most problematic issue that causes this, even with a perfect installation without airbubbles. Air will still be trapped. The material used with protectors also has a difference, with plastic like materials offering higher acoustic impedance.

Whitestone dome is obviously unique with their choice of adhesive and application techniques. But they still have to endure the basic physics of acoustics and energy lossed from these added materials between the biometric sensor and the finger.

I may be overexplaining things, but as i said before there are many who have had issues with "press harder" messages. Which is almost certainly because of the high attenuation from the added media which causes a reduced energy of transferred and reflected energy.

Heres a thread for many having issues with the Qualcomm ultrasonic sensor. Not to deter people at all however, but be aware of the potential issues that can occur. Myself, i have very little issues. But i do notice a definite slower response and increased error rate (though very very small).

I know how the tech works. All I'm saying is I've had no change in functionality.

Just wondering does the NZ model of note 10+ comes with a clear case in the box?
